What to expect
We will leave from our meeting point either hotel or Airbnb and we will take a tour of the beautiful Cinta Costera where you can see the skyscrapers and the famous Vasco Nunez de Balboa who was the first Spaniard to reach the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Puerto Balboa
Entering the Omar Torrijos Avenue, an area that previously belonged entirely to the canal zone, an area managed by the Americans, we will visit the railroad company that links the Atlantic and Pacific oceans long before the Panama Canal was built. We will also pass by the Marcos A Gelabert International Airport. Entering this area you can see the change we have in American style infrastructure and the great vegetation that surrounds us.
We will arrive at the Miraflores Locks Visitor Center from where you will be able to observe the boats entering the locks to perform the lockage process which can take about 30 minutes, during this process we will give you an explanation of how the boats are lifted by gravity. The tour continues in the Canal Museum which has four floors where each floor has a different theme that includes history, biodiversity, the Canal process and the expansion of the Panama Canal.
In the Balboa handicrafts center you will find a great variety of products made in Panama by local indigenous groups at very good prices. We will also see the clothing of one of the five indigenous regions found in the national territory.
Ancon Hill
Leaving the Canal we moved to the area of the Panama Canal Administration which is located on an artificial mountain. This is a very historic building since it was the scenario where the administration of the Panama Canal was handed over in 1999.
El Chorrillo
This neighborhood owes its name to a spring of water that was born on the slopes of Cerro Ancon, popularly known as El Chorro. In this area the largest population is of Antillean origin and as a result of the U.S. invasion of 1989, most of the houses were destroyed. The old neighborhood disappeared to make way for new infrastructure.
San Felipe
This is the time to walk through the narrow streets of the area of San Felipe considered cultural heritage by Unesco here we will take a tour of about an hour. Visiting the churches of greater representation and the squares that give an important contribution to the history of the city of Panama.
Cinta Costera
Leaving the old town we will take a tour of the Cinta Costera Bridge where you can see the Old Town protected by its walls that highlights an obelisk of 18 meters, at the tip is the figure of the Gallic Rooster, symbol of France built in honor of the French for being the first to start the construction of the Panama Canal, followed by the City with its skyscrapers, in addition to the islands Reef Marina completely artificial that was created to be one of the most exclusive residential areas of Panama City.
We will make a tour through an artificial road that connects the beautiful islands of the Amador Causeway; one of the most visited places on weekends by Panamanians and foreigners. From there we observe one of the most beautiful views we have of the city of Panama. There is also a duty free port store located there. In addition to finding a variety of restaurants
Panama City
At the end of our tour we will give the visitor the option to stay at the Allbrook Mall which is known as the largest shopping center in Central America or if the visitor wishes we will take them back to the initial meeting point.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
