An absolutely amazing trip! I booked this tour around 8pm the night before. I was aware it was a Spanish only tour but being that it was last minute I booked it anyways. The guides were terrific, they apologized for knowing little English but I felt well informed by them the whole time. I did this tour the same day I arrived in Huaraz and I will say I struggled a bit with the altitude but I am still glad I did it. If you are scared of heights, get car sick, or have struggled with altitude sickness previously be warned. I never get car sick but the ride up the mountain did make me a little queasy. We stopped in the city center for ice cream after they picked everyone up. We then made our way to the park, stopping one more time along the way to put in our orders for our lunch when we returned from the mountain (it was a small family run restaurant in the middle of the countryside with absolutely beautiful views) We did the hike which was about 30-45 minutes (including pictures, which the guide did an amazing job taking for me) then we got to kayak (single, double, or they will take you out in a group on a small boat) single was 20 sol On the way back we stopped for the preordered lunch then we headed back to the city where we also stopped for a brief wine tasting and more ice cream/chocolate. This tour was way more than I could have asked for!

It's a very nice place. Windy but beautiful. You can climb to the viewpoint or to walk near the lake. I recommend to climb first to the viewpoint. It worth it.

Worth the 3 hour trip from Huaraz. Road bad to very bad most of the way so organize reliable transport and make sure the transport waits for you for your return journey. Short very steep hike up to the viewing point, scrambling over rocks in part. When overcast the Paramount mountain in the background will not be visible Thank you Eric Adventures for organizing this trip

I went alone to Huaraz twice and both I've made my tours with Scheler Artizon Tours. I went to Glacier Pastoruri, Lake Paron e Lake 69. His agency is the mostly recommended by Mochileiros.com (a brazilians backpackers group) and has the best service of accommodation and mountain guides. I recommend with my eyes closed. Estive sozinho em Huaraz 2 vezes e em ambas fiz meus tours com o Scheler. Fui ao Glaciar Pastoruri, Laguna Paron e Laguna 69. É a agencia mais recomendada do Mochileiros.com e tem o melhor serviço de acomodaçao e guias de montanha. Recomendo de olhos fechados!

Departure from Huaraz city at the agreed time, the route is in the northern part of the Callejón de Huaylas, arriving at Carhuaz where we will make a small stop to have breakfast then we will continuous our trip we will pass for yungay, caraz from where the road deviates towards the east going through the Parón Town, arriving at the front of the Quebrada de Parón and the Lake of the same name, located at 4170 m.a.s.l. of altitude, we will walk 40 minutes aproximately to arrive to a sightseeing point from here you have a panoramic view of the lake and the mountains like huaydoy, chacraraju, piramide, paron, caraz and aguja and finally we will return and to Huaraz.
