Absolutely wonderful day trip to Petra and Kerak Castle with our driver, Monther! From the very beginning, Monther was friendly, professional, punctual, and incredibly helpful. He made the whole day comfortable and stress-free, and his driving was excellent.

Our one-day trip to Karak Castle and Petra was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our time in Jordan. It was amazing to see two completely different sides of the country’s history in a single day.
Karak Castle was a fantastic first stop. The ancient fortress has an incredible atmosphere, and exploring its stone corridors, towers, and historic rooms really gives you a sense of how important this location was throughout history. The views from the castle were also spectacular, and it was fascinating to imagine the events that took place there centuries ago.
From Karak, we continued toward Petra, and the contrast between the two sites was incredible. Petra is simply one of those places that photographs cannot do justice. The first glimpse of the ancient city and its extraordinary rock-carved architecture was absolutely breathtaking.
Walking through the Siq and arriving at the Treasury was a moment we will never forget. The scale, detail, and history of Petra are incredible, and being able to experience it in person was something truly special.
What we really enjoyed about this trip was the variety. Karak gave us the feeling of stepping into a medieval fortress and experiencing Jordan’s military history, while Petra offered an entirely different journey into the ancient Nabataean world.
Even though it was a full day, everything felt well organized and comfortable. The journey between the sites was enjoyable, and we had the opportunity to appreciate the scenery along the way. The route itself was part of the experience, with beautiful mountain landscapes and changing scenery throughout the day.
This was more than just visiting two tourist attractions. It felt like traveling through different chapters of Jordan’s history in a single day.
For anyone interested in history, architecture, dramatic landscapes, and unforgettable travel experiences, we highly recommend combining Karak Castle and Petra.

Kerak Castle
Kerak Castle is a large medieval castle located in al-Karak, Jordan. It is one of the largest castles in the Levant. Construction began in the 1140s, under Pagan and Fulk, King of Jerusalem. The Crusaders called it Crac des Moabites or "Karak in Moab", as it is referred to in history books.

Petra, the Rose-Red City, was the impressive capital of the Nabataean kingdom whose ruins remained hidden to most of the world until the Swiss explorer, JL Burckhardt, disguised as an Arab scholar, infiltrated the city in 1812. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Meet your private guide at the site and hike or ride a horse down to the entrance of the Siq, a long, winding sandstone canyon that leads to the Treasury. The tour continues to the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater and the Royal Tombs.
