Shobak Castle, also known as Montreal, is a medieval fortress in Shoubak, Jordan. The Crusaders built it in 1115, and it is one of the best-preserved Crusader castles in the region. It was built to protect the Crusader kingdom from Muslim invaders and served as an essential trade route between Egypt and Syria.
