    I have been to Playa Mia for the last few years and this time I was very disappointed. They have made several changes but not for the better. They charge for activities that were included in the price in the past. The food was so-so, not great. They now charge for umbrella usage. Very few waiters/servers. Had to go get my own drinks. Most of the inflated water features were not there. The kids were very disappointed. I would not go back next.

    I am writing this review as I sit at the facility. We booked this through Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. First impressions were underwhelming and did not improve. They appear to care more about offering overpriced massages, banana boat rides, or jet ski rentals than providing a variety of activities to guest. Although drinks were included (soda & alcoholic), every one we ordered was nasty 🤢 The sodas, including the $3 can I purchased, contained sucralose, which I cannot consume. The included alcohol was the bottom of the bottom shelf. I believe this is intentional as they had a cash bar available if you don’t want the “free” alcohol. The only positive was the food. Nothing to write home about but decent. We wish they had music and live entertainment. You know it’s bad when we are counting down to our return to port.

    This place will nickel and dime you too death charges for everything. Unfriendly staff that expect tips regardless of service provided.

    I didn’t enjoy the beach after paying over a hundred dollars everything that was fun to do was shut down and not operating. They didn’t offer any money back or a rain check.

    Don’t Go!!! They aren’t open when you arrive, and aren’t set up when they do. The water was stirred up from the jet ski /lifeguard, so no clear water for snorkeling. You look to the left and right down the beach and they have large inflatables, but the playa Mia staff says they don’t have many of theirs do to climate change!?!? The pictures are deceptive. Flies everywhere which could be solved by large fans, and the drinks are watered down to the extreme, even the draft beer. My kids were very disappointed, and ready to leave in under an hour. Also the slides at the pool, one was shut down. It’s a trap, you would have more fun and better food at others. Beware, and the staff doesn’t care

All guests must wipe-off any sun lotion residues or shower BEFORE entering either the ocean. We suggest the use of long-sleeved UV-filtering shirts, hats, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. Coral, fish and all other sea creatures thank you for your cooperation!
