Goldbelt Tram

Pick-up at "C" Sign at the base of the Mount Roberts Tramway and van transport to main office for gear orientation and outfitting. Once outfitting complete, guests will be transported to the West Glacier Trailhead.

Hiking to the glacier begins with 4 miles through towering Sitka Spruce and Hemlock in the largest temperate rainforest in the world.

Explore this ancient ice age wilderness from the glacier's edge, and marvel at the stunning ice features that create a deep blue tapestry before you.     Clients need to wear sturdy hiking boots that provide good ankle support while hiking on uneven, rocky terrain & trekking on the glacier. All clients will need to hike with a backpack the entire way on this trip.

    Glacier Access and feature exploration: The Mendenhall Glacier is receding daily. Because the glacier is in a state of constant change, not all features may be present or accessible. We will explore the edges of the glacier safely from the bedrock. This tour does not include trekking on the glacier.
