What to expect
We will pick you up at the cruise ship, hotel or accommodation and during the 25 min trip we will introduce general aspects of the Balearic Island, Mallorca, the language, traditions and the mountain range protected by the UNESCO: La Serra de Tramuntana.
We start the walking tour through the village, stopping at key sites such as the Carthusian Monastery (from outside), where composer Frédéric Chopin and writer George Sand spent a winter. You will explore the monastery and beautiful gardens and learn about its history and significance. Find out the history of Catalina tomas, The patroness of the village, and her miracles. If you want to try a local delicacy: "Coca de Patata". *Tickets to the Carthusian monastery, the cell of Chopin, or other expenses are NOT INCLUDED.
The viewpoint, known as "Mirador de Sa Foradada," is one of the most breathtaking spots on the island of Mallorca. you can gaze out over the Mediterranean Sea and the rugged coastline. A rocky peninsula that juts out into the sea and is famous for its large, natural hole ("foradada" means "pierced" or "holed" in Catalan). This place is particularly popular at sunset. As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant oranges, pinks, and purples, casting a magical glow over the landscape.
Palma de Mallorca
Visiting Palma Old Town also known as "Casco Antiguo," is a journey through more than two thousand years of history, culture, and evolution. Your adventure begins in the heart of Palma, where you will recognize the traces of the three most important societies over the centuries: the Roman Empire, Madina Mayurqa, and the Crown of Aragon. As you walk through the narrow, winding streets of the Old Town, you ll be enchanted by the quaint shops, Mallorcan courtyards known as "Patios", the old walls, the incredible number of churches from Gothic times, modernist buildings combined with other curiosities, legends, and anecdotes that your guide will point out hidden gems, such as the "Drac de Na coca", a monster in the city.
The majestic Cathedral of Santa Maria, commonly known as La Seu. This stunning Gothic masterpiece, perched on the edge of the sea, is renowned for its breathtaking architecture and magnificent stained glass windows. Your guide will share stories of its construction, which began in the 13th century and lasted for nearly 400 years. Don t miss the chance to admire the light filtering through the windows, casting a spectrum of colors across the stone interior. Of course, don't miss Antoni Gaudí's work inside the church. **OPTIONAL: Tickets to the Cathedral are NOT INCLUDED (10€/person) but we can enter and skip the line if you are interested.
