What to expect
El Once Barrio Comercial
The Jewish Quarter, popularly known as "Once", it's located in the heart of the garment district. It is full of Kosher shops, Jewish institutions and orthodox congregations, where Sephardic Jews as well as Ashkenazi Jews live in harmony with their non Jewish neighbors. You will do a small walking to see the new building of the Jewish Federation (AMIA), the IFT theater (former Yidish theater) and discover it shops and Kosher markets. You will visit the oldest synagogue called "Great Temple Paso".
Amia Cultura
We will see the building of the Jewish Federation from the outside and the mural that was painted on it's side wall to remember the terrorist attack suffered in 1994.
The Jewish Museum of Buenos Aires was inaugurated in 1967. It is located next to the impressive Libertad Synagogue. This museum narrates the stories of the immigrants, the Jewish colonies and our traditions. The Jewish Museum ticket also gives you access to Libertad synagogue, the most beautiful synagogue of Buenos Aires, built in 1932. It belongs to CIRA (Israeli Congregation of Argentine Republic), the first jewish institution in our country, established in 1862.
You will visit the Memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and the terrorist attack against the AMIA (Jewish Federation). It is placed inside the main cathedral of Argentina.
