Duncansby Head

Adorable puffins are guaranteed on this tour with with an experienced ecologist. But more importantly, the magical experience of the Caithness puffin colonies. Watch them take off and climb into their burrows to nestle and feed their young, flying overhead amongst other seabirds such as common and black guillemots, fulmar, razorbills, cormorants using high powered binoculars. Look out for your grey seals, or on a lucky day, out local whales and dolphins. There are easy routes for young children or tougher trails that get you up close for hardier hikers, roosts accessible by car or by public transportation from any Caithness Town! We'll suit this tour to you. Good walking boots are essential, and bookings are subject to cancellation during bad weather, which can cause dangerous conditions. Binoculars and ID guides provided. All tours depart from Thurso Harbour Car Park. Booking cancellations are subject to poor weather - high winds make many areas unsafe for walking.
