Compared to the Grade 3 rapids we did in New Zealand, this one was a bit less action (only 1 "Get Down") with quite a long calm stretch at the start for intros and instructions. It's not a fair comparison though, as this one is also cheaper at 65Euro. It's still a really enjoyable experience with our enthusiastic guide. Quite a bit of the ~1.5hr on the river was spent waiting while ours and other groups completed 2 activities. The first: the raft is turned upside down on a rock and we each run down and slide/jump into the water. You're a couple seconds underwater and then bob up and have to do a few strokes to get yourself to the side so the next person can jump in. For non- swimmers like us, this was a tad daunting even with life jackets on, and we weren't able to swim against the current, but was eventually advised to go with the flow behind the rock; much easier this way to reach the side. I would've preferred our first dip to be in calmer waters before getting more adventurous, but glad we did it. The second (more scary; totally optional): You can rock climb 6 metres and jump off it. I actually didn't mind the waiting, as I was able to relax by the rocks or on the edge of the raft, and take in my surroundings and enjoy being on Soca River.
The photo situation is mentioned often and I noticed their website does say "photos included". In the van, we were shown a QR code to go view and download our photos. We basically had 2 photos in the end. That is, 2 scenes, but there were several shots of each scene. First one was a nice group shot at the start, showing us standing ankle deep in the river, and the second one was of each of us as we did the first jump from the upturned raft. We didn't do the 6-metre rock jump. I would've appreciated just one or 2 photos of us actually rafting on the river. So they have improved by the sounds of it, but still slightly lacking.
For those of us who booked this activity through Altitude Activities, as part of our full day Triglav NP tour, we arrived less prepared than others and needed to change into our swimsuits at Aktivni's base (rafting gear are put on later, out in the open after arriving at the river location). There were only 2 change rooms/toilets (male and female). I had to use the Men's one and it wasn't very clean. The locks didn't even work, so needed someone to stand guard to have any privacy. I believe the Women's lock didn't work either. Should have better facilities.

Absolutely amazing experience rafting down the Soca Valley. The company are friendly and efficient when working with large groups. You feel looked after whilst having an exhilarating experience. The highlights were sliding and jumping off the back of the raft and jumping into the water off a big rock (optional to participate in).
Great company and great experience. Highly recommend.

Paddle 10 kilometers through crystal-clear turquoise waters, navigating exciting Grade 2-3 rapids perfect for beginners and experienced rafters alike. The Soča's cold alpine snowmelt waters require wetsuits, which we provide along with all safety equipment.
Your expert guide will lead you through thrilling rapids, calm pools for swimming, and stunning Julian Alps scenery. Pass by locations where Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was filmed. The river journey ends back in Bovec, where you'll receive complimentary professional action photos the same evening.
