We didn't want to do a full day activity so this itinerary was perfect. We stayed at the Marriott Momi Bay and this cruise departed south of us so the bus ride was only about 30 minutes (those coming from closer to Nadi would be over an 1 hour). This is the perfect itinerary to check off a "cultural" activity without spending an entire day to do it. It includes a sunset river cruise to an island, kava ceremony, lovo cooking (you see them unearthing the food which was mostly potatoes, cassava, and chicken wrapped in foil), dances, and capped off with a fire show. The highlight was approaching the island and having two fire dancers come out to greet us, followed by a welcome song on the beach as we landed.
The performers were great and friendly, but you can tell some of them were more into it than others. The food is buffet style and pretty decent, especially knowing that some of it came from the lovo (they had other food that wasn't part of the lovo). A few guests were brave enough to try the kava, but since I was a little sick I passed on it. The boat ride back was dark but there were bright lights on the boat so it wasn't too bad. It was actually pretty cool going back in the thick of night. Expect to be back to your hotel pretty late, especially if it's near Nadi. We were back around 1030pm in Momi Bay.
As an aside, the Marriott also had a fire show the night before that was pretty similar to the one on the island. Granted, there were more performers on the island but it lowered my excitement since I already saw something similar the night before. Overall, I'd still recommend this activity if you don't want to spend a full day but still want to experience Fijian culture.

People and entertainment were such a vibe.
But most memorable would be the island itself and the stunning sunset.

We came to Fiji to celebrate a family member's 60th birthday. As part of the celebration, we organized the Robinson Crusoe sunset cruise and dinner show. It was fantastic and enjoyed by all family members - young and old.

This was a great experience. Due to length of trip from Warwick we went to the day/night tour with the village tour first then the night activities. Night was the highlight - completely action packed. It involves a lengthy bus trip. Small boat trip. Village kava ceremony and tour. Buffet and fire show plus singing and a fire at night. Amazing fire show and dancing. Long boat ride back and bus too - takes a while but they made it worth our while. Snorkeling a little average. Mud crabbing is someone picking up a crab pot along the way!
Thanks to all who made this an enjoyable and welcome experience. Bring extra money for trinkets at the village and for donations after show.

The food, the show, the culture, and the service. Wow. It was an amazing night, yes the bus ride pick up from double tree was an hour and a half but that's because it's the bus picks up two stops along the way there and the speed limits of the roads is 80kmh, but wow once on the island for the dinner and show the effort and passion all of the Fijian people put into it is amazing, wait until you meet Samson one of the younger fellas, his passion and pride in the Fijian way and culture is amazing

Pick-up and drop off are provided from Nadi/Denarau/Coral Coast area hotels (up to The Warwick Fiji). NOTE: This tour departs Robinson Crusoe Jetty, located at Natadola, at 1700hrs therefore pick-up from your hotel/resort will start at least 2hrs prior. Correct pick-up time will be advised at time of booking hence please ensure you are ready at your hotel lobby at least 15mins prior to the given pick-up time. If your hotel/resort name is NOT provided at time of booking and tour is missed, NO refund will be provided. Similarly upon return, depending on the resort you stay, it will take approx. 2hours back.
