If you do the Gorge request Kurt as your guide. He was amazing and you can tell he loves what he does. Been rafting several times in Colorado with different outfitters. Hands down, Kurt is the absolute best there is in white water. He’s why we are coming back next June.

My three 17 year old friends and one of our parents did the Royal Gorge Half Day trip. It was not short of an awesome experience. Our guide James “Son of Richard”, knew everything about the river’s rapids and history. If you’re looking to just have pure fun this was the option. Not too much paddling, a great amount of rapids, and a refreshing amount of splash (especially if you sit in front). James knew so much interesting history of the beautiful Arkansas River including the old pipeline, unfinished dam, and botanical knowledge. Half way through the ride we stopped for a bathroom break and an optional 12ft-ish cliff jump that we highly recommend. So much fun for us. We came in from Breckenridge and the ride had a vast and scenic view. The ride was 1:45 but it went by fast. It was a short bus ride to the drop in point that Scooter (the other guide) gave a quick safety talk. The bus ride back from the take out point was even shorter. Overall a great time and would definitely return and recommend!

My husband and I decided to go raft last minute on our camping trip. We have both rafted before so I decided to look up the hardest, most fun, 1/2 day trip. This ended up being with Performance Tours 1/2 day and part of the River stretch called "Numbers". We were put with our rafting guide KELLY and she was AMAZING! it was just her my husband and I and a ride along. She was able to guide us through the toughest rapids with excellent instruction and even when we goofed was able to "T " up the boat so we did not flip. It was just what we need and such a fun trip. I would HIGHLY recommend KELLY to anyone that wants to go rafting hard or easy. But I think she really likes the hard..... Also have to say our safety man Jared was awesome too riding ahead to watching out for us just in case.
You are in very very safe hands with Kelly!
Numbers 1/2 day was not a drop down choice so picked the other trip she guides and says is a must do!

So it was my first time white water rafting and it was AWESOME!!! James did a fantastic job scaring everyone during the safety orientation and James (yes it’s another James) did just as well making sure we got to our destinations. Just joking, they were great! I was there with my daughter and we got paired up with Kurt and Gabe. They did an amazing job instructing us and navigating the river. Aside from his rafting skills, Kurt gave us tips on many hikes and places to see in the area. And what I appreciated the most was when he spotted a Big Horn Sheep which had been eluding!!! Thanks Kurt! Performance Tours is an amazing outfit that made my first white water rafting experience fun, safe, and a memorable one. I would go back to them on my next visit and definitely recommend Performance Tours for a white water rafting experience.
