Russafa
Russafa is a historic neighbourhood located in the heart of Valencia. In recent years it has become a center of culture, gastronomy and nightlife in the city.
Estacio del Nord
Admission to This modernist gem – Estació del Nord – was designed by Demetrio Ribes and opened in 1917. Its colorful tiles and floral motifs celebrate Valencian identity, making it one of Spain’s most beautiful and busiest train stationsthis place - free
Designed in a neoclassical style, its grand façade and striking symmetry make it a landmark of the city. Though traditionally used for bullfighting, it now hosts concerts, events, and cultural activities.
Placa De L'ajuntament
The largest square in Valencia, dominated by an attractive fountain and surrounded by beautiful sights with buildings from the 19th and early 20th century.
Mercat Central de València
This masterpiece of modernist architecture - Mercado de Central - in Valencia was designed in 1914 by Francisco Guardia and Alejandro Soler. The oldest and the largest market in Spain.
La Lonja de la Seda, built in the 15th century, is a UNESCO-listed Gothic masterpiece. Once a silk exchange, its stunning architecture highlights Valencia's medieval prosperity.
Valencia Cathedral
The building has a variety of architecture styles including gothic, baroque and renaissance. It was built as a Roman temple in the 13th century, then it was turned into a Mosque for a short period of time. Inside there is the Santo Caliz Chapel and the Holy Grail.
Plaza de la Virgen
Located in the heart of the beautiful Old Town of Valencia. In the centre of the square lays a beautiful fountain named Fuente Del Agua de la Acequia. It is surrounded by beautiful and historic buildings such as the Cathedral and the Basilica.
Originally there were 12 gates in Valencia with a city wall in the Old Town district, but unfortunately 10 of them have been fully destroyed in the 19th of century. There are only 2 gates left until these days. One of them is the Torres de Serranos, the other one is the Torres de Quart.
The Turia Garden is one of the largest urban parks in Spain. It runs through the city along 9 kilometres. The old riverbed was supposed to become an urban highway after a devastating flood, but the community of Valencia decided to turn the empty space into a glamours, green area.
Ricardo Bofill was one of the architects who designed the new Turia Park after the flood, also he was involved in design process of the Palau de la Música building, which was finished in 1987. This building is the Valencian Concert Hall today.
Hemisferic
Hémisferic also called the eye of knowledge is the centerpiece of the City of Arts and Sciences area and the very first building of the complex. The whole building supposed to remind you of a human eye. Completed in 1998, designed by Santiago Calatrava, currently functioning as an IMAX cinema. Admission to this place - from 6,70 euros
L'Umbracle - Mya
It is a sculpture garden with different kind of plant species, built as the entrance of the City of Arts and Sciences area, designed by Santiago Calatrava. Inside of the building there is The Walk of the Sculptures, which is an outdoor art gallery with sculptures from contemporary artists.
Queen Sofia Palace of Arts
The Queen Sofía Palace of the Arts’s structure supposed to remind you of a Roman helmet it was designed by Santiago Calatrava. It is functioning as an opera house, performing arts centre and an urban landmark that opened at 2005.
The largest aquarium in Europe designed by Felix Candela. One of the largest dolphinariums in the world, with it’s avant-garde architecture design. In total, there are over 45,000 animals from over 500 different species. Admission to this place - 25,75 euros
Museo De Las Ciencias Principe Felipe
The Science Museum is an interactive museum. The building is over 42,000 square metres and it resembles the skeleton of a whale. The construction started around 1994, and it opened it’s gates in 2000, it was designed by Santiago Calatrava. Admission to this place - from 6,90 euros
L'Ágora is a multifunctional covered space designed by Santiago Calatrava. It is a space with an open ground plan. The maximum seating capacity is more than 6000. The building has a glass roof along it’s spine and has a movable structure to control the natural light from the top to inside of it.
