We had a lovely morning with Dani who lead a comfortable and very informative tour of the northwest side of the island. The scenery is incredibly gorgeous and Dani entertained us with folklore, history, and cultural tidbits. There were many stops along the way for photos and/ or new information about what we were seeing. It was fun to walk about the town for a few minutes and then later to visit the pineapple plantation.

We had an amazing time with tours from Picos de Aventura! We spent three days with our wonderful tour guide, Diogo and a half-day dolphin watching. Diogo is very friendly and approachable. He is passionate about his work and knowledgeable as well. He had a lot of anecdotes about the different aspects and parts of the island. He was very open to teaching us some Portuguese, and I think he learned some French as well! Do not hesitate to ask him questions; he loves to answer them! Diogo's a safe driver, so you don't have to worry about those narrow and twisting roads, but take some medication just in case you get motion sickness.
Unfortunately, there was a lot of unexpected weather (rain, fog, wind), but thankfully Saint Peter was there to save the day. But be prepared because you may not always see those lakes. And bring that rain jacket!
As for the whale and dolphin watching tour, don't expect the whales - more often than not, they won't be there. But there are A LOT of dolphins. And if you get seasick, it will be a rough ride.

I took an amazing tour in October with Eduardo as our guide. The views of Sete Cidades were breathtaking. I long to return and swim in the green lagoon! Eduardo is a wonderful tour guide. Very knowledgeable and proud of his island. The Azores continue to amaze me and plan to return again and again. Picos De Aventura has won it's place as my preferred tour company on Sao Miguel.
You won't be disappointed in any tour you choose!

Nous étions 3 franco-portugaises partit une semaine et quasi toutes nos excursions ont été gérées par Picos de Aventura.
Nous gardons un magnifique souvenir de ces 3 tours, des endroits étonnants, certains à couper le souffle, riche en couleurs, totalement dépaysant, une très belle découverte.
Les tours étaient bien organisés.
Nous tenons à dire un GRAND merci à notre guide Thiago : un super guide enthousiaste, compétant, à l'écoute, qui partage ses connaissances et enrichis les nôtres, des explications claires qui nous permettent de comprendre et découvrir l'île. Nous recommandons ces tours qui permettent de découvrir les points et lieux les plus intéressants de l'île en peu de temps, ainsi que ce guide !
