    It was not only a cooking class, I felt like home. Paraskeuas, Sofia and Margarita welcomed us into their home as members of their family and shared with us their world. We saw their animals and lands, they shared their recipes and traditions. We danced, shared ideas, thought and personal experiences. It can be described only with a a single world, Philos (Greek world to describe the love of a friend).

    We had such an amazing evening at the Veggera Farm! Paraskevas and Sophia and the whole family welcomed us and made us feel at home, we explored the farm, met the family, picked fresh organic products including fresh walnuts (which I love!), we tried and tasted a whole range of organic food and drinks too all from the farm, we then cooked with all ingredients that came from the farm, we learned how to make traditional Cretian dishes and then had dinner with the family. Paraskevas took his time with us to explain all of the products and the Cretian way of life. It was a very special experience that I will treasure. Thank-you again to Paraskevas, Sophia and the whole family for hosting our visit, it was great!

    Paraskevas and Sofia welcame us warmly, we could see the olive trees and prepared lunch on the terrace. This was also the first rainy day since ... May ! and we were happy for trees and cultures around us. We appreciated this day so much, and we could enjoy lemons, oranges and avocados many days later at home ! Blessed be our guest's family and the beautiful Crete surroundings of Stilos.

    Paraskevas and Sofiya made us feel very welcome through this activity, we showed up and were greeted with coffee and a chat, and their dog nutella. The actual cooking portion was amazing as well, majority of the prep work was done already but there was still enough left so that we felt we could say we'd cooked the meal! Paraskevas took us on a tour of the farm and we got to milk the goats, pet the cats and dogs, and eat grapes straight from the vine. He introduced us to his grandparents and showed us a bit about their life and culture, and then we headed back to continue cooking more food. We learned so much about olive oil (which they also produce on their farm), and then when wanted to buy some travel sized bottles at the end he gifted them to us and wouldn't let us buy them. The biggest thank you to Pataskevas and Sofiya, this was an amazing activity and very worth it, possibly the best one we did in crete. Kalimera!

    This day exceeded our expectations. It was so fun & interesting to learn about the farm life in a Cretan shepherd village. We were treated to the most delicious & fresh food imaginable- and played a big part in its preparation. Milking a goat is harder than it looks! Also very fun once you get the hang of it. Such a relaxed pace & the warmth of the family made our day a memory of a lifetime. Beautiful people sharing their traditional village life. What a special thing.
