    They tell you right from the beginning, when you book, that you can never be definite that you will see a shark! We booked knowing that! The organisation and communication was great and we were constantly informed about everything. We knew we were not going to see a Great White as they made it clear these have not been seen for over 5 years. The crew were excellent, helpful, knowledgeable and funny and we had a great day. We saw two small sharks but it was more the experience of being out there and having a go. Yes it would have been great to see more sharks and bigger sharks but these are animals in the wild!

    Complete waste of time. I understand wildlife do not come out for photo shoots - but do not get mugged into parting with your money with this company. 1) they send you an email, stating that diving suits are throughly cleaned before a next person uses them, but when you are on the boat - their is not enough suits. You are put into groups of four and expected to share the suit once the first group has had their diving experience. That’s dirty - what if they have a infections or pee in it? Also the change over time would be so long - the experience would be lost as they don’t have enough bait. 2) the bait they used was a joke - the fish on the line looked like it had been put out for the past 4 dive attempts as it wouldn’t coax a blind bird with a great sense of smell, let alone a Shark. The bait was lifeless - we couldn’t smell any fish, which is what you would expect to attract a shark - no fish blood or fish heads were put in the water as bait. After over two hours at sea - instead of ditching the meatless/odourless/colourless scraps of fish on the line. They put it back in the bucket, for the next days dive. I don’t think they realised - we saw you do it. 3) the crew in fairness are good, but lads - you can’t continue to mislead your customers like that. There are NO SHARKS in False Bay and that is a true statement and not a false one. 4) we did see some seals on Seal Island though - they say that their is between 65000 and 70000 seals - the Sharks clearly weren't interested in them though? 5) we also sighted some Whales. 6) you would get a better experience playing the baby shark song

    Everything was well organised and clearly communicated before the boat ride. I rarely see such a committed and enthusiastic crew. During this half-day trip, they ensured that we all had fun and pampered us as much as possible on a shark diving boat. Thanks for the great experience!

    We did a half day shark dive in July. The Apex team was excellent. Our safety briefing was thorough and the experience was an adventure. Unfortunately we did not see sharks, despite almost perfect conditions but the captain advised that sharks were scarce most of that week due to several days of big storms blowing out of the area. So that was a bummer, but you know, it’s the ocean, you can’t control sightings. Our captain did find two humpback whales and got us very close, which was a highlight of the day. Ultimately we had a great time, hand fed some ocean birds in mid-flight, got some great pics, saw some whales, and got some fresh air. Would definitely recommend Apex and would definitely try this again when we are next in Cape Town.

    We had a fantastic time cage diving! We are so glad we went with apex and the ere excited to see a bronze whaler for dive in addition to seal island and some dolphins. The crew was great and everything was so well explained!

    Apex Shark Expeditions

    The crew welcomes you to Simon’s Town a mere 45 minutes from Cape Town.Guests will receive a full safety and sighting briefing aboard White Pointer II before departure. Depart for historical Seal Island which is a 25 to 35 minute boat ride based on sea and weather conditions. Should amazing Cape Point be the location for the trip, the boat ride is +- 50 minutes. The total duration at sea is 3- 4 hours depending on the weather conditions and shark activity. Tea and coffee are available at our shark centre in Simon’s Town. Browse our unique range of shark-related merchandise and check out our wall of fame. There may be a familiar face or two. The trip is weather and tide dependent therefore time slots are NOT confirmed times. Please ensure that you have the entire day available as times can only be confirmed the day before and are non-negotiable. Exact times will be confirmed the day before and are subject to change.
