Great time. Island is beautiful and peaceful, few other people there even on a beautiful (week)day, our 4 hr there went by in a flash. Ride over and back was scenic and mellow, captain and mate were very helpful with information and loading/unloading some gear that we had. We'd made reservations and paid in advance, when one of our party got sick the night before scheduled departure, we were able to roll over tickets to following day with no problem. Recommended.

Great 1/2 day outing. Was able to make reservation that morning for Shell Key Ferry. I just wanted to be out in the middle of nowhere, lol. My wish was granted. Took my beach chair and beach bag and caught the 2pm ferry. Capt Scott was friendly. The setting was pristine. Water was delightful. I felt I was in heaven.

I had a great time on this trip. The ferry ride was wonderful. The ride was smooth, crew was informative and we saw some dolphins on the way. The island is nice and relaxing, shells everywhere. I had taken a bag to collect shells but they do sell some if you forget. Make sure to take some drinks, snacks, whatever you want as there is nothing on the island.

We paid the $6 to park and parked where they told us and still received a $30 parking citation. We have no idea why we received a citation.

It was a great day at Shell Island. The captain and 1st mate were so polite and courteous. They gave the members on the boat great safety instruction and information about the area. Also on the way back from the island a pod of dolphins were in the area feeding. The captain was so kind to stay in the area so we could watch them around the boat. The sighting was so up close. My family enjoyed the adventure!

Extremely friendly and informative. Saw dolphins on the way back and they took the time to stop and watch and went out of their way for everyone to get to see them! Definitely recommend!!

On our boat ride out to Shell Key, we saw lots of wildlife including dolphins which enjoyed following our boat. Our captain reminded us to be respectful of the fragile environment & wildlife. We spent the day finding a variety of lovely shells & enjoying the beauty of the island. Sadly we departed after several hours & our captain returned us safely to Fort DeSoto.
