    Staying in Kinsale time too long, one hour should be enough, this is give us more time to walk around the cruise terminal area.

    We did this tour off our ship. Our ship docked at 11:00 am, by the time we got off and everyone on board it was close to noon. It's about a 1.5-hour drive to Cork and the Blarney Castle. We were told we had to meet the bus back at 3:00 pm sharp and that we probably would not have time to go up into the castle and see the stone. There was a 90-minute lineup to get up there so we decided to just wander the grounds. The grounds are spectacular and well worth the trip! They are very large and there is so much to see. Sadly we had to go back to the bus and the almost 1 hour drive to Kinsale. This little town is very cute but other than a bit of shopping there really wasn't much to see. Other than to support the local economy, I'm not sure why it was included in the tour. Anyway, I would recommend if one can just hire a taxi at the port and they will take you directly to the Castle and just stay there for as long as you can, it is worth it. Again this is not directed against the tour company they were great as well as the bus and driver but it's just too much to try and do in one day.

    This tour was conducted by Paddywagon Tours. I repeated asked the day prior and was told that our ship coming in at 11 am would not shorten or affect our tour. The tour was supposed to be a full 8 hours regardless of the ship port time. That was not the case. Several of the 50+ passengers on the tour told our guide Steven that our all aboard on our ship was 8:30. He then said he would be back at the ship at 7. We returned at 6:15. The trip to Blarney Castle was lovely, but repeatedly the guide said it was not worth the time on the 2-3 hour line to kiss the Blarney Stone. The line was only about an hour which we did and were glad we did. We were given 3 hours at the Blarney Castle. We were not told about the Blarney house that some could have gone into as it was open from 10-2 and we arrived about 12:00. We found this after we climbed the castle, saw the house and then went there after climbing the castle. The tour guide repeatedly discouraged doing anything but walking around and reminded us to be back at the bus on time or you would be left behind. After the castle we went to Kinsale. We were given 1 hour there with no information. My husband and I walked around to find the stores closing up for the day at 4pm. This was a total wasted stop. After an hour we were brought back to the ship with more comments about how traffic would be a big risk to get us back to the ship. In the end we returned to the ship at 6:15 to find the local cafe and store outside the ship closed. Other passengers on the tour were annoyed as well. Steven told us to complain to Paddywagon Tours as this was his directed orders. To add insult to injury as a joke he drove around a round about three times so we could tell people we went around Cork three times. I can say Steven did provide some history of the area and pointed out sites along the way. I felt like I paid for a 3 hour bus ride and a 3 hour stress get back to the bus or you are left here tour.

    We signed up for the Shore Excursions railtrip to Blarney Castle and Kinsale. Mistake. First, we understood that most of the trip was to be by rail. Nope. After a 15 minute trainride from Cobb to Cork, we got on a bus to Blarney Castle. That was nice, a lot of walking. We got back to the meeting place, waited there only to find that the bus left without us. When I called the excursion company, they were rude and beyond unhelpful. Luckily we found a taxi and had a delightful (and expensive) trip back to the port. Its all about who Shore Excursions uses, Irish Rail was terrible while a tour booked in Scotland was great. I blame Irish Rail Tours but no one helped us (but us).

    Enjoyed Blaney Castle area. Our stop in Kinsale was somewhat disappointing. A long drive for lunch which was the only point of interest pointed out. The bus driver shared more stories than history

It was just off the Old Head of Kinsale that in 1915 the Lusitania sank with grave loss of life.

    Our next stop is the historical town of Kinsale for, a town famed for the battle of Kinsale in 1601. Today it is Ireland's gourmet capital with winding streets, great pubs and fine restaurants. On our standard 8h tours we stop in Kinsale for lunch, however depending on the departure time of the ship this must be at the drivers discretion (NO EXCEPTION). The town is beautifully situated at the mouth of the harbor and is exceptionally colorful with picture post card buildings and many country Irish folk with strange and distinguished accents

    We depart Kinsale and to make sure you are back at least 1 hour before departure. The service ends back at the dockside after approximately 8 hours on tour. If the boat is leaving earlier we will amend the itinerary as necessary.
