It is one of the most historically significant and vibrant places in Johannesburg where the historic signing and adoption of the Freedom Charter in 1955 took place. This project commemorates and celebrates the events that took place at the 1955 Congress of the people, during which 2884 delegates as we as 7000 spectators attended the proceedings.
