A bucket list item ticked off. I considered my limitations 65 yrs old, 90 kgs and unfit and made the arrangements. Arrived at the meeting point where 2 young ladies in Grabrock uniform waited but there was little no acknowledgment, eye contact or welcome! Hmm! Then the main man, Chris arrived at the meeting point and the tone changed significantly for the better. Light banter, general enquiry of attendees, and then signed off the digital waiver and off we went. Wandered up to the ropes base, I was much, much slower than the others on the steep but manageable trail, and the briefing session was well underway when I ambled in. Chris had come back down to see how I was coping and made appropriate enquiries about my precautionary walking stick and knee brace.
The harness and launch were without incident- although a stranger had helped hoist my rear end over the fence to get to the launch pad. Mild embarrassment!
Chris had correctly ascertained me as the weakest link in the group and offered to accompany me down the abseil and even took some images of my launch pose on my iPhone.
The descent wasn’t textbook but whilst expletive laden it was completed.
However the rock climb/scramble back up to the launch site on the hideously difficult steep rocky terrain was a completely unexpected aspect of the experience. This was where my unfit aging overweight body could not cope. Chris was above and beyond excellent in his care and concern - I had overwhelming guilt for over estimating my capacity to complete the ‘bucket list’ item.

I recently did the sunset abseil at Mt Tinbeerwah with Grab Rock a it was the best experience ever.
We had a mixed group of some semi confident and some fearful women. The staff were absolutely amazing going above and beyond to help, you can truly see their passion for what they do.
We all left loving it and are looking at doing it again, even the ones with fear of heights.
Would highly recommend to anyone 👍
Also highly recommend taking a platter to share and watch the sunset once you are done spectacular 🙌🏻

• A M A Z I N G • We had the most spectacular afternoon with Kris & Myles and can’t thank them enough for the wonderful time we had abseiling! They were both highly professional, personable and super funny! They made us feel so comfortable and safe throughout the entire afternoon and allowed us to experience something truly magical. They were able to calm me down as I was a complete emotional wreck who is super afraid of heights and they gave me the confidence to scale the cliff multiple times! Would highly recommend and this would be an exceptional group experience to anyone. So long as those boys are near me, I’m not as afraid of heights as I once was before. It was so much fun!! Thanks guys - we had the best girls afternoon 🤗🥰👌🏼
