The views were amazing! We enjoyed the waterfall immensely. Ben was our guide and he was very helpful to us older, slower ones. He was also knowledgeable and shared things with us about the area. The lunch they provided was substantial and very tasty. 7 of us in our boat of 8 were able to enjoy the tube ride, though all of us were 60 yrs. old or above. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Fiji.

Absolutely fabulous! Quite the highlight of our holiday to Fiji. The staff were very friendly. The village was authentic- just living their day to day life, not trying to sell us anything
. The waterfall amazing. Lunch was delicious and the river tubing was oh so much fun! The tour guides made sure we stayed on ship time (and not Fiji time) and so we could relax knowing we would make it back in time and we did! 😁
It still gets a 5* review even with a few hiccups with the organisation at the port. They were late to meet us, made us wait almost an hour, a bit disorganised as to who was supposed to be in each van and there were no signs to know where to go/meet. A little asking around and we found the meeting spot. Even with those issues, the tour was so fantastic it made up for that too still earn 5*!

This tour was one of the best we’ve done. It is well organised and most importantly FUN. The waterfall is fabulous albeit a bit of a hairy walk in. The long boat ride up the river and rapids was an adventure in itself but the highlight is the tubing down the river and rapids. Make sure you wear aqua shoes. Bare feet or thongs just aren’t good enough. While you don’t necessarily need to be fit you certainly need to be fully mobile and steady on your feet. The guides are very helpful.

Great day. We booked the shore tour. Very organised and had us back to the ship in plenty of time. Picked up in good bus and drove around one hour to the river. Jumped into long boats with our black rubber tubes and boated up the river for one hour to a lovely village. Walked to a huge waterfall for a swim. Then back in the boats down the river for a river front delicious lunch. Then it was time to jump into our black tubes for exhilarating ride down some gentle rapids, not scary at all. Back into the boat for our last stop the bus back to the ship. Congratulations to all the young men guides looking out for us all and giving us such a laugh. Would recommend for a shore tour.

In spite of a MAJOR issue with this tour, I nevertheless give it the best rating, because the tour itself is really recommendable and we enjoyed it a lot. Scenery is beautiful, the river lovely, the waterfall spectacular. The guides were very nice and considerate, making sure that everyone was safe and comfortable. Quality of food was reasonable and what you can expect on a "barbecue in the wild". Again, shade and even seating opportunities were provided.
(Just bear in mind: this is NOT an adventure tour. This is suitable for the young and reasonably fit elderly too.)
We were on a cruise ship and the ship had offered the same tour (at more than double the price) but I doubt their experience has been as enjoyable as ours.
So, what was the ISSUE ?
Due to very bad communication of the pick-up time, people obviously did not know when to meet at the pier. We had been sent a message to be off the ship asap as pick-up would be between 7:30 and 8:00 (as opposed to 8:30 in the original tour information). We did not want to be late and hurried to be off the ship at 7:30 (as was another couple). The tour operators only showed up about 20 minutes later, and the tour did not leave until well past 8:30 (again waiting at the main street for two latecomers...). Meaning: we spent more than 1 hour waiting at the pier among exhaust fumes of various tour vehicles, time that could have been spent having a nice breakfast or a nicer view. So, for heaven's sake: communicate the same and proper time to everyone, make sure they confirm, be there at the agreed upon time yourself and deaprt on time.
It was indeed a bit annoying that when boarding the boats we were told to hurry to have more time on the river. Well...
(just to confirm: timing to be back at the ship was great. Still time left. Nothing to worry at any point in time.)
