Yeoville Water Tower
Built in 1914, the spherical steel drum tower was designed to hold 50,000 gallons of water in the of 8m wide water tank . The distinct red structure stands at just over 27.5m tall. The spherical design of the water tank is based on a German design and was partially imported from Europe. The distinctive onion shape of the tower dominates the hill on which it sits, North-East of the Johannesburg city. The unusual design of the Yeoville Water Tower and its elevated, prominent position make it a landmark structure in the Johannesburg suburban skyline.
5 Rockey St
You'll get a true taste of the continent in Afro-cosmpolitan Yeoville. From East to West Africa, Yeoville has it all. Walking the legnth of the historical Rockey Streetis sensational. The walk includes some spectacular views, forgotten Victorian architecture and some rich political heritage, to accompany the tasting journey.
