What to expect
Plaza de la Conchita
We will arrive in Coyoacán to visit the first church built in Mexico in 1525 by the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés.
Casa Colorada Antigua casa de Cortes y la Malinche
We will visit the house of La Malinche, home of the indigenous lover of the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés, and we will learn the story of her love and betrayal of her homeland.
We will enter a small park dedicated to Frida Kahlo with sculptures of the painter and her husband Diego Rivera.
We will see and learn about the colonial architecture so characteristic of this bohemian neighbourhood that seems to be a small village in Mexico City.
Museo Nacional de las Culturas Populares
We will enter our favourite museum in Mexico City where you can appreciate artistic expressions of different cultures of the country, a must visit in Coyoacán.
We will visit Centenario Park and the Coyotes fountain, an icon of Coyoacán and a place where all Mexicans have gone for a walk, eat churros, ice cream and buy some handicrafts.
Casa de café, cacao y chocolate mexicano
We will stop at one of our favourite shops for you to try some ancestral drinks such as tejate, pozol or chilate, and if you are looking for chocolate, cacao, mezcal and Mexican coffee this is the place to be!
Coyoacan Market
We will visit the market to see the handicrafts, the fruit stalls, the typical food such as tostadas and the architecture of the place.
We will visit Frida Kahlo's house to learn a little about her history and the history of Diego Rivera and his influence on Mexican art and painting.
