What to expect
Campo Petrichor
Your guide Mick, who is the owner of the vineyard and regenerative garden Campo Petrichor, will pick you up at approximately 9:00 am at the train station in Paine and will also drop you off at the train station in Paine at approximately 3:00 p.m. Mick the owner will provide you with his expertise in regenerative/market gardening and wine making techniques. You will learn to taste like a true sommelier. Mick is a certified second level sommelier and winemaker. He will provide you with glasses of his boutique production of Cabernet Sauvignon (no more than 1000 bottles) from distinct places in his vineyard and different vinification styles. You will also experience first hand harvesting, planting and seeding techniques using regenerative/market garden tools. You will also meet Campo Petrichor´s farm animals such as *Pepa* the Pig and their chickens. At 12:00 p.m. you will be provided lunch which includes the vegetables that you harvest on the farm.
After lunch at Campo Petrichor you will arrive at vineyard Antiyal (15 minutes drive). Antiyal is a legendary vineyard. They are certified organic and biodynamic and were the first family boutique vineyard in Chile. Mick your sommelier guide will provide you with a tour and explain to you in detail everything in regards to viticulture and vinification process. You will also be provided with a special tasting of their world renowned wines such as Kuyen and Antiyal. You will have a sommelier tasting in the middle of the vineyard where a special device will be connected to the grapevine to produce music from the plant while you taste. The other tasting will be on the roof of their wine cellar overlooking the southern tip of the Maipo Valley.
