    Literally what an amazing day out on the ocean. The first spot was a little rough because there was a swell coming in from the south, so the two captain Taylor’s and Justice decided to go way out of the way up north down the coast to a beautiful secluded beach that was protected from the direction the swell was coming. On the way we saw a whole pod of spinner dolphins, and what an amazing treat. When we got to our second spot the water was so calm and the brightest blue I have ever seen. On the way back we were talking to Taylor about the Mantas and he said he would get us out the same evening. And if a secluded snorkel spot and spinner dolphins wasn’t enough the manta rays were absolutely incredible and the crew was fantastic. They were very informative and passionate about protecting the Manta Rays and making sure everyone was safe. They are professional and made everyone feel comfortable in the water. By far the coolest experience on the Big Island. I was skeptical at first but these guys are pros. I definitely recommend going on an adventure with Ocean Encounters while you are in Kona.

    The crew was great the snorkeling was great but you can’t control the behavior of fellow guests and we had some really rude ones who were fun suckers. It is a smallish boat and some guests were less accommodating of fellow passengers enjoyment. Our grandson enjoyed every minute of the time allocated for each snorkeling stop. I wish I could share pictures but the site wouldn’t accept them. It was quite a beautiful day.

    Great experience! We had some time on the boat looking at dolphins and then went to two different spots to snorkel. Really smooth process getting on and off the boat and I definitely feel like we got our money’s worth.

    Bite Me Sport Fishing

    The Bite Me Sportfishing logo store and office. Check in for your sportfishing or snorkeling adventure. Check in time is 30 minutes prior to departure time. Pick up some of our Bite Me Sportfishing Logo gear or book a snorkel adventure on our Ocean Encounters boats which include our nightly Manta Ray Night Snorkel, Midday snorkel and our Morning Reef Snorkel.
