    Superb day out. Very good & informative driver/guide in George. Visited villages,drove through mountains with snow still in places then had a beautiful lunch before a visit into the spectacular gorge. All in all a fab day.

    We had a lovely day with our tour guide and excellent driver George, who has excellent knowledge of area and various Plants around the Crete island. He showed us many amazing places including small villages. It was marvelous experience and we really had a good time!

    We took a trip out with Safari Crete during our two week stay in Crete. We came to the island last year and fell in love with the place, so had to come again! This trip was brilliant from start to finish. We saw sights that you could only get to in a 4x4, explores the beautiful mountainous areas and met some lovely locals along the way. Our tour guide was a brilliant driver and made us all feel very comfortable. He was very informative and explained a lot about the area. We visited the mountains, went to small villages and explored this beautiful gorge. This holiday has been all about seeing those non-touristy sites and by doing this trip we have definitely uncovered some hidden gems. Thank you to the team and our driver Danny for a fantastic day!

    An excursion to Cretan lands with a top French guide, showing us all the riches of the country, breathtaking views despite the bad weather. We discovered the Sarakina Gorge which are fabulous!!! We recommend eyes closed!!!!

    There is much to say about the excursion we spent and it is only positive! It was a very nice day, well paced, where we had the opportunity to discover places that are off the classic tourist trails and more beautiful than each other. With a mention +++ for the typical Cretan meal that we were able to share together in a really nice local tavern and whose owner is absolutely generous and kind. In addition to being very kind Nikos is a real knowledge well (we learned a lot about nature and Cretan culture with him throughout the safari), moreover he is very open to exchanges and really wants to know his guests. The exchanges were spontaneous and simple which adds a really special touch to the excursion. He is a very dynamic and flexible person (possibility to adjust the places desired according to the need and time remaining) who knows the island at his fingertips. PS: Nikos speaks several languages, including French. I really recommend, if we had known Nikos earlier in our stay, we would have done all our excursions with him. Efcharistó polý!

We continue towards Katharo Plateau (altitude 1200m) through the cypress forest where we see goats, sheep and if we get lucky, we may even witness Cretan vultures in the wild. It is an excellent occasion to take photos of the MIRA A BELO Gulf, a name given by the Venetians and means “beautiful view”. We then move southwards to Selakano forest, which is famous for the unique, high quality honey that is produced there. We will cool off at Sarakina Gorge, a gorge of easy access for all. Photos of this breathtaking landscape will impress your friends. We continue towards the southernmost point in Europe, that is, the fishing village of Myrtos. It is time for a swim, shopping or a cup of tea by the Libyan Sea. Be sure to bring your sneakers, a towel and sunscreen with you and of course to fully charge your cameras.
