    Mehmood took three of us on the advanced course and we had a blast. It’s sheer, scary and takes about 90 minutes. Stunning views. Start immediately below the hotel Alila. Several places rely on holding the cable and pulling out as there weren’t great footholds. But Mehmood was a fabulous guide and showed us how to do this. Really fun and delighted to have a drink afterwards to celebrate.

    It was a great experience, my first time doing Via Ferrata and the staff made me feel very safe and comfortable as I was nervous in the beginning. Ended up being so fun! Thank you.

    We had a great time on the Jebel Akhdar via Ferrata/Zipline, it was definitely a bit challenging but still very fun and had amazing views the whole time. It was a little bit scarier/more difficult than the Cloud Ladder Via Ferrara in Estes Park, for reference. Very good safety standards and equipment for the climb, but make sure to wear good close fitting shoes. The guide took lots of great pictures and we did too! We are experienced climbers so we finished the route in a little over an hour, which left plenty of time to explore the village next to the route and enjoy some freshly made coffee with an incredible view of the sunset over the terraces. We went 3-6pm, which was actually not hot at all as the weather is cooler in the mountains than in Muscat. There is an option to have hotel pickup, but we opted for meeting the guide at the Birkat Al Mouz police checkpoint (you need 4wd to go up the mountain). This was perfect as we were able to drive to Nizwa after for an amazing dinner based on the guides recommendation.
