It is 16thc. defence gate, completed with draw bridge, leading to medieval town. Now it is the place with watercolours offered by artists and small stylish figures sculptured by artists waiting for clients.

Lazienki Krolewskie w Warszawie

Depending on how much time you have, we can stroll along the biggest park located once in the suburbs of town, now in the centre, to stop near Chopin's monument, where in summer on Sundays piano recital are organized, then to see summer residence of the last king, so called Palace on Water, amphitheatre still sometimes used, then drive along Royal Route to the Old Town.

You see the place where almost half a milion of Jews were forced to live in pointed district surrounded with wall. It is marked now with Rappaport monument dedicated to heroes of Warsaw ghetto, memorial stones bearing the names of people who contributed to survival of Jews or died fighting, like Anielewicz, leader of uprising in Warsaw ghetto.
