    I highly recommend Wine Lovers Tours. We had an excellent experience. Urska gave us an informative tour as we visited 3 of her favorite wineries. All 3 wineries presented flavorful wine and strong customer service. I look forward to coming back to Hvar and doing the wine tour again!

    Wonderful trip! The wineries were very small production, very artful about their craft, and happy to let you sample their pride and joy. Our guide was excellent and not only showed us more of Hvar, but also answered all of our questions and gave us more helpful advice for our trip.

    We booked this trip on the suggestion of our travel agent, Trailfinders, before leaving the UK. It turned out to be a wonderful recommendation. Dinko our driver and guide picked us promptly from our hotel - we were only two on the visit and he drove us through the ‘new’ tunnel to the southern side of the island. During the course of the afternoon we visited 3 wineries. At each we were greeted enthusiastically by the owners and sampled their range of wines - white, rose and red - together with nibbles. The ‘whites’ were without exception excellent though we found the ‘reds’ a bit heavy. On our return journey to Hvar, Dinko drove on the old road over the mountain where we could enjoy fantastic views of island and benefit from his all encompassing knowledge of the island, history and people. In summary two trips for the price of one!

    100% would recommend! We booked this tour solely for the reason of going to three wineries instead of the one or two winery tours that were advertised that included olive oil/chocolate tasting. We wanted wine! The first winery we visited was Carić in Veboska. It exceeded our expectations at just the first stop. The wine and food pairing was delectable; meats, cheeses, sardines, olive oil, and chocolate. The other two wineries were great! Dinko was a great guide with lots of knowledge of the island. Lots of laughs were had and memories made with our new Irish friends that accompanied us on the tour!

    The Wine Lovers Tour from Hvar was an absolute highlight of my trip! Our guide, Dingko, was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Hvar, where he grew up. He shared so much history and local insight as we visited three beautiful wineries across charming villages. First stop: Vina Ventus in Vrisnik, hosted by Una, where I enjoyed 5 elegant wines paired with prosciutto, cheeses, and olives. I couldn’t resist buying a lovely dessert wine! Second: Vina Carić in the picturesque village of Vrboska (“Little Venice”), where 5 more wines were served alongside local olive oil, anchovies, and more regional bites. Last but not least: Duboković Winery in Jelsa, where Gabriella (with Stephen’s help) poured 9 wines and treated me to a tasting of infused olive oils—rosemary, oregano, basil... a true sensory experience. Highly recommend this tour for wine lovers and culture seekers alike—thank you, Dingko, for such a memorable day! 🍷✨

Meet the guide/driver in front of the Hotel or any other accommodation on a driveway, where we can meet by car. Pick up is free of charge. If you will not confirm your pick up with us, we will wait for you on a centrally located point (Bus station). If your Rental House, Apartment or any other Hotel Accommodation is not listed and can be reached by car, please contact us for pick up and we'll try to arrange a pick up for you. If your Cruise ship, ferry, or any other ship arrives in Hvar city Port we will meet you on a Meeting Point at Hvar Bus station, which is only 5 minutes walk from the Hvar city port.

    Jelsa

    In Jelsa, a small coastal town with a long wine-making tradition, the Tomić family cultivate indigenous grapes as well as experimenting with new ones. Pay particular attention to Prošek, the original Dalmatian wine made from selected grapes of the highest local quality.  Also in Jelsa, you will have a chance to taste what it’s like to try ”2718 hours in the bottle”. Young and ambitious ”wine newcomers” without vineyards or with very small land plots. Their feeling belief is that basing wine production on grapes purchased from other farmers can’t possibly be as good as coming from your own vineyard. Here in Croatia, Dubokovic wines have become a ”must have” in the finest restaurants, hotels and specialized wine shops. Last but not least, the Carić family in Vrboska have been involved with vineyards for as long as they remember. However, it was not before Vino Hvar was established that they started producing their own “Carič wines”. The family have 5-hectares of vineyards in a specially designated wine growing area known as “Vinogorje Hvar.”  We will choose three vineries among five listed above. Our choice will depend on the availability of listed vineries. Please feel free to suggest your favourite vineries and we will try to do our best.

    Vrisnik

    In the village of Vrisnik meet the only woman among winemakers Jo Ahearne. She moved few years ago on the island from Great Briatain and she is an academically trained winemaker and first Master of Wine producing in Croatia. Her knowledge and indigenous grapes from the islands of Hvar and Korčula makes a perfect combination in wine bottles. In every sip you will find the love of grapes and sophisticated flavour of wine.

    In the largest village of Vrbanj on the island the Plančić family started in 1919 and continues until the present day, combining tradition and modern oenological achievements. In every glass you will find the love of grapes, authenticity of the ecologically protected area, and harmony of the indigenous but courageous wine producers.
