Gesu Nuovo Church

The Church of Gesù Nuovo is located in the square of the same name, opposite the obelisk of the Immaculate Conception and the basilica of Santa Chiara. The external facade is embellished by the splendid marble portal while the interior is characterized by rich Baroque decorations. A chapel of the church houses the remains of San Giuseppe Moscati.

The church of Santa Chiara, the largest Gothic basilica in the city, was built by order of King Robert of Anjou.

Spaccanapoli

One of the symbolic streets of Naples so called because it divides the ancient city in two. Walking along the entire route we can admire numerous historic buildings, palaces and churches which are among the most important places of interest in Naples.

Piazza San Domenico Maggiore

The square, which takes its name from the Basilica of San Domenico Maggiore, is dominated by the obelisk of the saint and is framed by the apse of the basilica itself and a series of noble palaces, including Palazzo Sansevero. Prince Raimondo di Sangro used to pass through this square to arrive at the splendid family chapel which houses the Veiled Christ.

Statua del Dio Nilo

In one of the many small squares of the city we find a mysterious statue and symbol of abundance. The Statue of the God Nile reveals the relationship between Naples and the Egyptians. Cults dedicated to oriental divinities thrived in the city, including the most famous ones dedicated to Isis.

Via San Gregorio Armeno

San Gregorio Armeno, known as the Via dei Presepi, thanks to the presence of ancient shops that hand-make the characters of the Neapolitan nativity scene. Here you can breathe the Christmas atmosphere at any time of the year and we can admire the craftsmen who not only reproduce characters from the classic Nativity but also statuettes depicting politicians, sportsmen and famous current figures.

Basilica di San Lorenzo Maggiore

The Basilica of San Lorenzo stands at the end of via San Gregorio Armeno and was built in the unmistakable French Gothic style. The apse is one of the most beautiful and audacious, of Gothic conception, found in Italy.

Madonna con la Pistola

It is the only work by Banksy in Italy, the Madonna who has drawn a pistol instead of the halo.

Duomo di Napoli

One of the most important religious buildings in the city and the place where it is possible to witness the miracle of the dissolution of the blood of San Gennaro. The Cathedral of Naples also includes the Basilica of Santa Restituta and the Royal Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro.

Busto di Pulcinella

The bronze work, donated to the city by the artist Lello Esposito, is one of the most photographed figures in the historic center and also among the most touched, it is said that rubbing your hand on the nose of the mask brings good luck.

Piazzetta Pietrasanta

Piazzetta Pietrasanta is a place where numerous legends intertwine. Here we find the splendid Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore built where the Temple of Diana once stood and the imposing and very ancient red brick bell tower. The remaining time on the tour will be for travel between attractions.
