Óbidos medieval citadel. The word Óbidos meant "walled city". Well preserved throughout the centuries, this is a picturesque town in-wall. Walk the walls, walk the streets and don't leave without tasting the famous Ginja de Óbidos perhaps in a chocolate cup !

O Sitio

This fisherman's village has recently been put in the international maps after McNamara started surfing the Super Waves that occur during Fali - but it already famous amongst Portuguesa for its ancient Sanctuary and what is thought to be, one of the oldest statues of a Black Madonna in Europe.

Batalha Monastery

Monastery of Batalha was ordered construction after the Portuguesa won the Spanish in battle and maintained independence, this precious piece of architecture mostly Gothic and Manuelino, took over 150 years to be concluded and is part of the network of Royal Panthe­ons. Our lunch stop should be in Batalha !
