The Casa Milà, popularly known as La Pedrera, is a modernist building by the architect Antoni Gaudí, built between 1906 and 1910 in the Eixample district of Barcelona. The Casa Milà is a reflection of Gaudí's artistic plenitude: it belongs to his naturalist period (first decade of the 20th century), a period in which the architect perfected his personal style, inspired by the organic forms of nature, for which he put into practice a whole series of new structural solutions originating in Gaudí's profound analysis of ruled geometry. To this the Catalan artist added a great creative freedom and an imaginative ornamental creation. We will see the building from the outside on this tour, tickets are not included.

El Beso De Joan Fontcuberta

The world is born in every kiss (or as it is colloquially known, "El Beso") is a photomosaic located in Isidre Nonell square made by photographer Joan Fontcuberta and ceramist Antoni Cumella in 2014. The origin of this photocomposition lies in the tercentenary of the Catalan defeat in the War of Spanish Succession (September 11, 1714), which gave rise to the celebration of Catalonia Day. The initiative came from the photographer Joan Fontcuberta in collaboration with El Periódico de Catalunya, and consisted in the elaboration of a mural composed of photographs sent by the readers of El Periódico, which together would form an image. The required theme for the photographs was "living free". With them, 4,000 ceramic tesserae were formed, distributed in 50 rows of eighty tiles each, which together form the image of lips kissing. One of the biggest tourist attractions today in Barcelona thanks to its diffusion in channels such as Instagram. A very photogenic spot in Barcelona!

Ovisos

At the end of the tour and totally included in the tour price, we will enjoy together a drink and appetizer, chatting in a relax way and good moment to take advantage to ask for directions, local places to eat, recommendations of what to do in Barcelona and everything that you need.

We easily found our meeting spot and were warmly greeting by our tour guide, Alfredo. He clearly demonstrated the light the tour his professionalism and depth of knowledge of the city. The tour took us all over the city and we stopped at strategic spots to discuss our views and history as well as capture some great pictures. Being on bikes allowed us to avoid getting stuck in traffic and to cover a lot of ground. Our guide was able to show us visuals to help us visualize what he was teaching us. We learned so much about the history of the city and the artists of the city, particularly Gaudí. His English was perfect. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed sharing some patatas bravas and cervezas afterwards. We started at the column honoring Columbus, rode along the embarcadero to Barcelonetta. Rode through the Olympic village and neighborhoods leading up the hill to the Park Güell. We toured the park independently and then reunited with Alfredo. Then we headed to La Sagrada Familia. We were given a little preview from our tour guide and we independently toured the church inside. Alfredo made sure we had our tickets and audio guides all set up before our ticketed tour time. The church was amazing. After we reunited, and our guide showed us a spot where we could grab a picture outside of the crowds. Then we headed through the city to see the two other houses Gaudi designed. Afterwards, we headed back to our starting point in the Gothic neighborhood. Navigting all over the city was made easier with electric bikes so that it wasn’t too taxing at any point. It was such a lovely way to get a lay of the land as well as see some famous sites. We would 100% hire Alfredo again for another tour. Five/five stars.
