    A disappointing visit to the Hard Rock Cafe New York. This was our 8th Hard Rock Cafe in the U.S. and we did our usual thing of not reserving a table and asking to be sat at the bar. We’ve found at the many other Hard Rocks we’ve visited that this helps get you faster service, a better view of all the comings and goings with access to the same full menu. Service was indeed super fast and our food - classic nachos with chicken, to share - arrived within 10 minutes. The bartender, however, was a bit of a grump. Maybe it was a New York thing?! We ordered two Blue Moons at a reasonable $9 each. We were surprised though to see a member of staff take a crate of 12 oz bottles out the refrigerator and open them at the back of the bar out of sight. Our drinks were served in the regular 16 oz glasses with a noticeable gap at the top of the glass. The beer pumps were all on full display and there were no signs to say that draft beers were off. What a con! Consequently we decided to not order any more drinks, finished our tasty food and headed off to a nearby Irish bar where they served real draft beers. WHAT IT COST 🥗 Nacho chicken = $25.99 🍻 Blue Moon x 2 = $18.00 😢 Tax = $3.91 💰 Total = $47.90 We left $55.00, being a $7.00 gratuity to reflect the poor service.

    If you’re expecting amazing food then this is not the place to go. However, for a fun meal, unique ‘Rock’ surroundings and friendly waiting staff then it’s great. There looks to be a lot of great memorabilia throughout the restaurant, but it is difficult to get at, with the numerous tables and chairs. Would be great to have a guide to what was there. Anyway, a great fun restaurant!

    Amazing vibes, amazing food. My first time in New York and this just made it all the better. Our waitress Lanita was just perfect, brought amazing energy and a lot of happiness to our lunch. The manager was an amazing guy as well.

    The restaurant is in a great area however, that means lots of people. Normally at a Hard Rock we like to look around at the memorabilia but there wasn’t a chance to do this as it was so busy. The food was good but the wait times are very long. The staff were friendly. Probably won’t visit again but it’s a decent enough place for a one time thing.

    We booked a table in advance of our NY trip, we were there for 4th July & thought there would be a 'party' atmosphere at the Hard Rock, plus I had a great time there for a birthday several years ago. How wrong could I be, I was so disappointed with the whole experience. We were seated by a rather curt & extremely busy waiter who gave us menus, but when we looked at them, they had pages missing and were really tatty. We ordered our drinks & food together & after a long wait, it all eventually came. The fajitas looked good, but the chicken was a breast cut up on top & not cooked with the seasoning & and veg, and my burger was the most tasteless thing I'd tasted all holiday. Then, when the bill came, there was a charge for $18.99 for a glass of wine, we purchased a glass of wine, but the price was much less. When we queried it, we were told that the wine we ordered wasn't on the menu anymore, so we'd been brought an alternative. We told the waiter he did not tell us that or offer an alternative, (which we would have declined at that price and ordered something cheaper), and we would only pay for the price that was on the menu when we ordered, he said we needed to pay for the total on the bill and made us feel really embarrassed for complaining so we asked to see the manager. A manager came over, and the short story is, there were a couple of old menus floating around, and we'd ordered from one of them. Not our fault. After a long debate & and waiting, he gave us an amended bill, and we paid & left. Really put a downer on the whole evening, the place was nothing like it was, or the London one, never will return. Sorry for the negative review, I dont often write them, but it was such a disappointing atmosphere, bad food & poor service, I felt I needed to. Hard Rock, please check all your menus to save the save experience for someone else.
