A disappointing visit to the Hard Rock Cafe New York. This was our 8th Hard Rock Cafe in the U.S. and we did our usual thing of not reserving a table and asking to be sat at the bar. We’ve found at the many other Hard Rocks we’ve visited that this helps get you faster service, a better view of all the comings and goings with access to the same full menu.
Service was indeed super fast and our food - classic nachos with chicken, to share - arrived within 10 minutes. The bartender, however, was a bit of a grump. Maybe it was a New York thing?!
We ordered two Blue Moons at a reasonable $9 each. We were surprised though to see a member of staff take a crate of 12 oz bottles out the refrigerator and open them at the back of the bar out of sight. Our drinks were served in the regular 16 oz glasses with a noticeable gap at the top of the glass. The beer pumps were all on full display and there were no signs to say that draft beers were off. What a con!
Consequently we decided to not order any more drinks, finished our tasty food and headed off to a nearby Irish bar where they served real draft beers.

If you’re expecting amazing food then this is not the place to go.
However, for a fun meal, unique ‘Rock’ surroundings and friendly waiting staff then it’s great.
There looks to be a lot of great memorabilia throughout the restaurant, but it is difficult to get at, with the numerous tables and chairs. Would be great to have a guide to what was there.
Anyway, a great fun restaurant!

Amazing vibes, amazing food. My first time in New York and this just made it all the better. Our waitress Lanita was just perfect, brought amazing energy and a lot of happiness to our lunch. The manager was an amazing guy as well.

The restaurant is in a great area however, that means lots of people. Normally at a Hard Rock we like to look around at the memorabilia but there wasn’t a chance to do this as it was so busy. The food was good but the wait times are very long. The staff were friendly. Probably won’t visit again but it’s a decent enough place for a one time thing.

We booked a table in advance of our NY trip, we were there for 4th July & thought there would be a 'party' atmosphere at the Hard Rock, plus I had a great time there for a birthday several years ago. How wrong could I be, I was so disappointed with the whole experience.
We were seated by a rather curt & extremely busy waiter who gave us menus, but when we looked at them, they had pages missing and were really tatty. We ordered our drinks & food together & after a long wait, it all eventually came. The fajitas looked good, but the chicken was a breast cut up on top & not cooked with the seasoning & and veg, and my burger was the most tasteless thing I'd tasted all holiday. Then, when the bill came, there was a charge for $18.99 for a glass of wine, we purchased a glass of wine, but the price was much less. When we queried it, we were told that the wine we ordered wasn't on the menu anymore, so we'd been brought an alternative. We told the waiter he did not tell us that or offer an alternative, (which we would have declined at that price and ordered something cheaper), and we would only pay for the price that was on the menu when we ordered, he said we needed to pay for the total on the bill and made us feel really embarrassed for complaining so we asked to see the manager. A manager came over, and the short story is, there were a couple of old menus floating around, and we'd ordered from one of them. Not our fault. After a long debate & and waiting, he gave us an amended bill, and we paid & left. Really put a downer on the whole evening, the place was nothing like it was, or the London one, never will return. Sorry for the negative review, I dont often write them, but it was such a disappointing atmosphere, bad food & poor service, I felt I needed to. Hard Rock, please check all your menus to save the save experience for someone else.

Don't go to this place we went Wednesday and the food was appaulling. They brought our food out just after giving us our starters. We told them we weren't ready and then they brought out the same food 15 mins later it was freezing cold.. we sent it back and the same food came back again on different plates... again plates were hot food freezing cold. The waiter was clueless and kept saying it was different clearly a lie the burgers were freezing in the middle and my daughters chicken tenders were hard and cold.. appaulling and disgusting never again

Poor Experience. Been to NYC a few times now, thought it would be a good experience to take the wife and kids to Hard Rock for some food and drinks during the Super Bowl.......big mistake. Reserved table online in advance. Arrived only to be told it was $50 per table and $50 per hour whilst there. No explanation or further info provided. Horrendous front of house staff. Sat waiting for a while, then when asked what's going on they explained we need a ticket, yet they didn't provide one. Finally got to a table, all seems fine and in reality the TV was on with the game, it's just the big screen and private area you pay for, why make a big fuss then Hard Rock, there was no need.
Been to Hard Rock all over the world, NYC by far the worst. Oh the food, below average, bland and disappointing. Will never be back. Flat draught beer also, don't entertain it, go somewhere else.
Saving Grace, Luis our waiter, polite, attentive and probably aware of the poor show that is this place so does his best for the customer and to make his money. Thanks Luis, the only good thing out of it.

We held our wedding dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe on Times Square after we got married on the top of the Rockefeller centre on Friday 20th September. The experience was fantastic, the food was great, the service was exceptional, they gave us free champagne, organised the first dance with our chosen music in the middle of the restaurant and gave us a tour of the site and balcony. It was truly a fantastic occasion for us and they made our day brilliant. I can’t recommend the team or venue any higher as they were perfect. Thank you so much Hard Rock for letting us pre book, organising everything and making our day perfect.

We went to the Hard Rock as regular worldwide customers and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Our food was basic, looked as though it had been thrown on the plate. Our server was very rude and barely acknowledged us, she took our order and didn’t check to see how our food was or offer us any other drinks after we had finished ours. We then got given the bill and paid and didn’t want to leave a tip as the service was terrible. When we stood up to leave, the server slammed the reciept on the table and said we haven’t tipped. She stood and forced us to tip. I will never be returning and urge others to do the same as this experience was shocking

The food was good and the service was great. We were here for a family meal. Of all places in NYC this restaurant was reasonable. We are for $100 for a family of 4 and my husband and I each had a beer.

Ate here for our daughter's Birthday.
Staff friendly and seated quickly. We had 2x combos, messi chicken burger and a surf and turf. Chicken burger was barely cooked to the point it was pink in the middle and one set of the ribs were black and burnt on the underside. Server was made aware - he took the plate of un- eaten food. Didn't return with it just said my manager offers a desert - the main hadn't even been eaten!!!!!
Called over the manager and after some debating he took the meal off the bill. All in all a disappointing first experience.
Would I recommend? No. Would I return? No.

As with everything in December in Time Square, it is extremely busy and a booking is absolutely required! Also with every Hard Rock the building decor and wall mounted memorabilia are superb. Although it was very busy, the service was actually pretty efficient and the food very good. Even if, my order was not correct when it arrived, but I let it slide as my waitress was very nice.

Me and my teenage son popped in for lunch on Sunday. We were seated promptly but that is where the positive ends.
Our food took over 35 minutes to come, the waitress kept telling us it was coming and topping up our drinks. When it did arrive it was mediocre at best. Steak fajitas was lacking enough steak to make the 4 tortillas. The grilled chicken burger was dry and not nicely presented.

Was there on Christmas Eve with family. The food was fairly good but seriously overpriced. Our server was friendly and welcoming. The one big complaint I have is that the music was so loud it was impossible to have a conversation. One of our party ended up with a headache because of this resulting in us leaving early. I have been to Hard Rock cafes all over the world and have to say this one was very disappointing
