The tour wasn’t anything we thought. The house on the add is very deceiving. The guide was too worried about their dog they had with them and had to read of of the phone. We thought we could google it and know what they were reading. It was too cold to stay and talerate the tour. So we left! It was kinda of a joke of a tour to us.

My family does ghost tours on every vacation, and this one was by far the worst. We got there right at 8pm, and the tour guide was already finishing up the first story. When we joined, he didn’t even ask who we were…we could’ve been anyone. So, he definitely didn’t take roll to make sure all groups that paid for the tour were there before getting started, nor did he care who joined the tour. Our biggest issue was his storytelling. It was lacking detail at every stop and the stories were not told chronologically making them hard to follow. They were also inaccurate…he said the Larkin House was the first two story building in the US. He also completely missed a stop - we never went to Fisherman’s Wharf. I don’t know if the tour guide was nervous, didn’t care, or wasn’t sober, but holy cow, do not spend your money here. This tour was supposed to be a great ending to my birthday, but instead, I left feeling sorely disappointed and cheated out of my money.

I wanted to score this so much higher as I’ve taken so many of these ghost tours before but this one was a disappointment. I seriously don’t want to get anyone in trouble but it was all on our guide. She had her little dog with her, no big deal and also said she was a new guide. Again no big deal. Here’s the kicker - she had two other “guides in training” with her. So why would a new guide be training two other guides?? Clearly they were her friends but they had multiple pack packs with them and were so bizarre in and of themselves that it was creepy tbh and not in the way that would have made the ghost tour fun or better in anyway. The tour was way too long, and then there was an “extended” tour which I’ve never seen before. We opted out of that. Thanks. Would have been so much better with a different guide. The potential was there

The tour was interesting and filled with local history and lore. The tour guide was great at telling stories and answered all of our questions.

Learning a lot about Monterey history and walking several miles in the city. Tour guides were very helpful and knowledgeable.

10/10! We did the tour with our middle school daughter and it was such a fun historical way to learn more about Monterey. Not scary by any means and you get to walk around and learn and see things you typically would have missed. You don’t go inside any of the buildings just heads up.

Mikaela was informative and pleasant demeanor. Fun New Year’s Eve activity. It gave our family an outing we could all do.
