We loved seeing Pompeii and our guide was great, but the seats in the “minibus” are just too small. I’m 5’ 10” and my husband is 6’ 2”. We were originally put in the back row of the bus and we literally didn’t fit in our seats. We had to try and fit ourselves sideways. Finally an amazing family traded us because we were thinking of just catching a bus back to Rome at that point. But even the other seats were just too small. We had deep imprints on our knees following our trip. (Seats smaller than airplanes). This put a big damper on our trip. It made it very uncomfortable. It was fun to see the Amalfi coast but not worth the extra time it took being in the cramped bus. If I were to do it again, I would just take the train down to Pompeii and back and skip the Amalfi coast.

Eileen was a super knowledgeable and fun tour guide! The drive did not feel far at all with all of the information she shared on the drive. Ilaria, our tour guide im pompeii was very knowledgeable as well. I wish Positano wasn't as crowded but can't control the crowds. Also, the way leonardo our driver handled the little bus especially in Positano with all of the curves and narrow roads was amazing 👏

Our driver and guide were awesome! We really didn’t know what to expect but wanted more time at Pompeii. It was packed and they moved you through so fast you didn’t have time to take in what you were looking at in relation to what you were being told. Our guide at Pompeii was very knowledgeable and I know she was on a time schedule but 2 hours was not enough time. We didn’t get to see a lot of the site. My biggest disappointment was the casts…we expected many remains but there are only 3. Come to find out that there is a museum where the rest reside along with many other artifacts…I would have loved to have visited that especially with the new discoveries! The drive down the Amalfi Coast was beautiful but traffic was a nightmare! Positano was beautiful. I think if I had to do it all over again I would have looked for a different excursion as that portion wasn’t my main objection…it was Pompeii.

We really enjoyed our entire trip. The Pompeii tour was very interesting and informative. The ride along the Amalfi coast to Positano was beautiful. Unfortunately due to excessive traffic we didn’t have much time in Positano Our guide, Chiara was wonderful and made the long trip enjoyable

There was so much traffic in Amalfi but the tour company still provided us with enough time to spend in each place (without rushing) as per the itenarary. It was also nice to have a relatively small group (13 tourists in total). Thank you to Orieto for your friendliness and safe and efficient driving! Ana was an excellent guide for the trip - she was patient, friendly, approachable and gave me so much information about the tour and also about other parts of Italy. Thank you for all your tips and recommendations! Finally, Ilaria was a knowledgeable and bubbly tour guide - her expertise and passion as an archaeologist were evident as she guided the group through Pompeii.

Long trip but well worth it. The Amalfi coast was amazing! It was very crowded in April. It would be crazy during peak season.

The Pompeii ruins, in the shadow of Vesuvius, lived up to every expectation together with our excellent guide, Illaria. Similarly being in Positano was like a dream come true. We were warned in advance that it would be a big (long) day, and it was, but well worth the effort when you have limited time.

To start off, our tour guide Andrea did an awesome job. It is a decent drive to the Amalfi Coast from Rome and Andrea was very engaging in commentary both in history of the areas we were driving through and in other discussions on random topics of interest. He also had great recommendations on which beaches would be good to visit from Rome for us for a beach trip we were planning. Our tour hit a snag with a delayed bike race around Pompeii due to weather which blocked off roads that led to the Pompeii site. It took a bit of time, but Andrea and our bus driver worked on the fly with different groups to figure out when we would be able to get to the Pompeii site instead of canceling that part of our tour. The Pompeii site is very interesting to see firsthand, a really interesting place to visit as a snapshot frozen in time. Although the Amalfi coast is very picturesque, I would say we enjoyed the Pompeii experience more.

This was a great way to spend the day! It’s a long one but worth it. Our tour guide Cosmos was very nice and gave us lots of information and time to nap on the trip to Pompeii. The bus is fairly comfortable however if you’re tall as I am, a bit cramped. The rest stop used on both sides of Pompeii and Positano is typical tourist spot. Pompeii is an intriguing place. Our guide there, Claudia, is an archaeologist who actually is involved with the excavation. She was very informative and precise in her information. Also very personable and nice. We learned so much. It is a beautiful place in a sad way. .Positano and the coast are beautiful breathtaking spots. We stopped for pictures on the way at a gorgeous spot. A tip would be to sit on side away from driver. Although the driver side is obviously going to be on coast side on returning journey, the angle is harder to get pictures. Positano is very small and has lots of shops. Vendors line the streets with beautiful artwork. Be sure to enjoy a bit of lemoncello. Just be careful, it’s potent.

If you have an extra day to spend, then yes this trip is worth it. I wish we would have spent more time in Pompeii and that the guide/archeologist was more engaging. Positano is a cute coastal town which comes highly recommended. But the drive down is full of twists and turns so beware. The driver and main guide were great. Again, if you have an extra day to spend then why not.
