Royal Palace of Madrid

Museo de la Catedral de la Almudena

The first stone was laid in 1883 but when Pope Leo XIII granted in 1885 the bull by which the Bishopric of Madrid-Alcalá was created, the project of the church was transformed into a cathedral.
