Today was a whirlwind of iconic Roman landmarks, delicious food, and a touch of luxury. I felt like I stepped back in time, wandering through architectural marvels and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of this eternal city. From the awe-inspiring Pantheon to the lively Piazza Navona and the enchanting Trevi Fountain, Rome has truly captured my heart. Sofia was absolutely thrilled, and Pieter, ever the history enthusiast, was in his element.

Lined with high-end boutiques and designer stores, it's a paradise for fashion lovers. We window-shopped, admiring the latest collections from Gucci, Prada, and Valentino. While I dreamt of owning a luxurious handbag, Pieter was more interested in the architecture of the historic buildings that housed these designer stores. Sofia, of course, wanted everything she saw. We did manage to find a beautiful silk scarf for my mother at a reasonable price, a perfect souvenir from our Roman holiday. As the afternoon sun began to dip, we arrived at the Trevi Fountain. The crowds were thick, but the sight of the cascading water and the majestic statues was worth braving the throng. Of course, we all participated in this time-honored tradition, each of us making a silent wish as our coins tumbled into the turquoise water. I started with the artichoke and Roman mint rocher, followed by the white truffle and hazelnut risotto. Pieter enjoyed the sustainably-sourced tuna cheek, while Sofia devoured her pasta. As we walked back to our hotel, 47 Boutique Hotel, under the starlit Roman sky, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this incredible day. Rome had exceeded all my expectations, captivating me with its history, art, and charm. Traveling with my family made it even more special, creating memories that we'll cherish forever. Tomorrow, we're planning to visit the Galleria Borghese and Villa Borghese, followed by a trip to the Bioparco di Roma. I'm excited to discover more of Rome's hidden gems and share them with you all.
