Epic Adventure to Iguazu Falls with Friends
Day 17: A Farewell Feast: Savoring the Last Day at Iguazu Falls
Reliving our final day at Iguazu Falls with friends, featuring local cuisine, lively bars, and unforgettable Argentinian experiences.
Adios, Iguazu!
As our epic adventure to Iguazu Falls with my mates draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible experiences we've shared over the past seventeen days. Today was all about savoring the last moments, indulging in local flavors, and reminiscing about the breathtaking sights and sounds of this natural wonder. It's hard to believe our journey is ending, but what a way to end it!
Y Restaurant within the park. I must say, starting the day with such a delicious meal definitely set the tone for a day of reflection and enjoyment. Afterwards we headed out to explore the park once more. Although we had seen most of it in the last couple of weeks, we decided to revisit some of our favorite spots, taking pictures and trying to commit to memory all the stunning views.
Sometimes, the best way to appreciate a journey is to look back and realize how far you've come, and how much you've grown along the way.
Aqva Restaurante Iguazú. This restaurant is known for its regional Misionera cuisine, and it did not disappoint! We sampled some local specialties, including surubi ravioli with mushroom sauce and the Ojo de bife. The meal was a delightful exploration of the region's culinary heritage, and it was the perfect way to bid farewell to the flavors of Iguazu. I even managed to convince the lads to try some local Argentinian wine, which washed down the lunch perfectly.
Wicz Bar. This gastropub had a lively atmosphere, with a great selection of craft beers and cocktails. We enjoyed some drinks, listened to live music, and reminisced about our favorite moments from the trip. Liam even tried his hand at some Neapolitan pizza, which to be fair, was surprisingly good.
The Argentine Experience. This interactive dining experience promised an immersive journey into Argentine cuisine and culture, and it certainly delivered. We started by learning how to make our own empanadas, which was both fun and educational. I think mine turned out okay, but I suspect Emily's would have been better. We also prepared our own mate drinks and assembled alfajores, those delicious shortbread biscuit treats. The highlight of the evening was, of course, the famous asado steak, paired with a glass or two of Malbec wine. The meat was so tender and juicy that it practically melted in our mouths. It was a true feast for the senses, and it was the perfect way to celebrate our last night together in Iguazu.
Iguaçu National Park has come to an end, but the memories we've made will last a lifetime. We've hiked through lush rainforests, marveled at cascading waterfalls, and indulged in delicious Argentine cuisine. We've laughed, we've cried, and we've grown closer as friends. This trip has been an incredible bonding experience, and I'm so grateful to have shared it with my mates.
Join Andrew and friends on a 17-day adventure exploring the stunning Iguazu Falls National Park, blending nature and camaraderie.
