We were ready to explore, taste, and truly experience the soul of Sintra.

Our day began with a hearty breakfast at Becco de Sintra. The restaurant was cozy, with an atmosphere that promised a delightful start to our explorations. I opted for the *tosta mista* and a *galão*, while Hans enjoyed the *pão com chouriço*. Saoirse, ever adventurous, tried a *pastel de nata*. The food was simple, yet satisfying, offering a perfect taste of Portugal to kickstart our day. Feeling fortified, we set off to immerse ourselves in the mystical side of Sintra.

Saoirse was particularly captivated by the holographic displays and the augmented reality exhibits, her eyes wide with wonder as mythical figures seemed to materialize before us.

Lunch beckoned, and we found ourselves at Miranda Restaurant & Terrace Bar. The atmosphere was inviting, and the menu offered a tempting array of Portuguese dishes. I chose the grilled octopus, a local specialty, while Hans opted for the *bacalhau à brás*. Saoirse, predictably, went for the *bitoque*, a classic Portuguese steak dish with fries. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. The terrace offered stunning views of the surrounding landscape, adding to the overall ambiance of the restaurant.

After lunch, we indulged in a little retail therapy at Dona Estefânia - Fábrica de Queijadas e Travesseiros de Sintra. The shop was filled with the aroma of freshly baked pastries, and we couldn't resist sampling some of the local delicacies. We bought a box of *queijadas* and *travesseiros* to take back to the hotel, along with a few *Pastel de Dona Estefânia*, intending to savor them later with a cup of tea. It was a sweet ending to our afternoon explorations.

As evening approached, we found ourselves at Passione Pizza sintra for dinner. After a day of Portuguese cuisine, we were all in the mood for something a little different. The pizzeria was cozy and inviting, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. We ordered a couple of pizzas to share, opting for a classic Margherita and a more adventurous *frutti di mare*. The pizzas were delicious, with a crispy crust and flavorful toppings. It was the perfect comfort food to end our day.

We ended the day tired but happy. As we walked back to WOT Sintra Ocean, the air was crisp and cool, carrying the scent of pine and damp earth. The rain that had threatened to fall earlier in the day never materialized, leaving us with clear skies and a blanket of stars overhead. I thought about tomorrow's itinerary, which includes a visit to the Gardens of Parque da Pena and the Ruínas da Capela de Monserrate. I am also looking forward to visiting House of Wonders for a drink after dinner.
