Today marked another unforgettable chapter in my Florentine adventure. Leaving the bustling city behind for a day, I ventured into the heart of Tuscany, a region renowned for its rolling hills, verdant vineyards, and culinary delights. It was a day of sensory exploration, filled with rich flavors, captivating landscapes, and the warm hospitality that defines this corner of Italy.

My day began, as most do in Italy, with a delightful breakfast. I savored a cappuccino and a pastry at Le Cappelle Medicee Restorante. The atmosphere was charming, and the pastries were the perfect start to a day of indulgence. Fuelled for the day, I made my way to the meeting point for my wine tour with Tuscan Wine Tours With Angie.

I was excited, having read many positive reviews about Angie's tours, and eager to experience the Tuscan countryside firsthand. It was nice to leave the city behind, even though I am sure Mei-Ling and Lin would have enjoyed the breakfast at Le Cappelle Medicee Restorante. They are always up for an adventure.

As we drove through the picturesque Tuscan landscape, Angie shared her extensive knowledge of the region, its history, and its winemaking traditions. The rolling hills were carpeted with vineyards, and the air was filled with the scent of earth and ripening grapes. It was a feast for the senses, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience this beautiful part of the world.

Our first stop was the Medici Villa of Lilliano Wine Estate. Nestled amidst vineyards and olive groves, the villa exuded history and charm. We were greeted by the friendly staff and taken on a tour of the estate, including the ancient cellars where the wines were aged. The setting was beautiful, and the staff were very kind.

For lunch, Angie took us to Tuscan Taste Florence, a charming restaurant in the heart of Florence. The restaurant was cozy and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We were treated to a selection of local specialties, including cheeses, cured meats, and, of course, more wine. It was a feast for the senses, and I savored every bite.

The afternoon was free, and I took the chance to wander through Florence, revisiting some of my favorite spots and discovering new hidden gems. The city was alive with activity, and the atmosphere was electric. I found myself drawn to the Ponte Vecchio, where I watched the sun set over the Arno River. It was a magical moment, and I felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over me.

As evening approached, I made my way to La Buchetta Food & Wine Restaurant for dinner. This restaurant had been recommended to me by several locals, and I was eager to try it. The restaurant was warm and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. I ordered the Florentine steak, a local specialty, and it was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and flavorful, and it was the perfect ending to a day of culinary exploration.

The staff were very helpful in guiding my choices, and I ended up having one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I must remember to bring Mei-Ling and Lin here one day.

To cap off the evening, I decided to visit Green Street Bar, a local haunt known for its lively atmosphere and creative cocktails. The bar was buzzing with activity, and the bartenders were skilled mixologists. I ordered a Negroni, a classic Italian cocktail, and it was the perfect way to end the day. The warm atmosphere of Green Street Bar made me feel relaxed and welcome. The staff were creative and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. It was a great place to unwind and reflect on the day's adventures.

Reflecting on the day, I realize how fortunate I am to have the opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Florence. I'm already looking forward to tomorrow, my last day in Florence, where I plan to visit the Florence National Central Library and the Synagogue and Jewish Museum of Florence. This trip has been a wonderful experience, and I am already looking forward to returning to Florence with Mei-Ling and Lin. I know they would love the city as much as I do, and I can't wait to share its beauty and culture with them. It has been a great experience to travel solo, but I do miss my family and look forward to seeing them again soon. It's always nice to be able to share these experiences with them.
