As my solo adventure through Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park continues, today was all about immersing myself in the local culture of Espot and venturing into the ancient embrace of Bosc del Gerdar. It was a day of simple pleasures, from savoring local cuisine to wandering through a forest that feels like stepping back in time.

The day began with a hearty breakfast at Pizzeria Al dente in Espot. Despite its name suggesting Italian cuisine, I was eager to try it out, especially after reading reviews praising its cozy, wooden decor. It seemed like the perfect spot to fuel up before a day of exploring. Unfortunately, according to opening times, Pizzeria Al dente is only open for dinner on Saturdays and Sundays. Instead, I grabbed a quick pastry and coffee from a local bakery. I made a mental note to return another time to properly sample their menu. I then headed to Casa del Parc Nacional d’Espot.

While I didn't spot any, I couldn't help but feel their presence in the rustling leaves and the gentle sway of the branches. After a satisfying hike, it was time for lunch. I stopped at Restaurant Braseria Er Amic in Salardú, a short drive from Espot. The restaurant specializes in grilled dishes and wood-fired cuisine, promising a hearty and flavorful meal. I savored a delicious meal, reflecting on the day's adventures. I decided to try one of their South African wines, a *Pinotage*, which was a delightful surprise. The aroma of coffee and dark chocolate flavors made it a perfect complement to my meal. It was a memorable way to end a day filled with exploration and natural beauty.

Reflecting on the day, I am struck by the simple beauty of Espot and its surrounding landscapes. The blend of local culture and natural wonders makes it a truly special place. Tomorrow, I plan to explore Ecomuseu de les Valls d'Àneu and Prats d'Aiguadassi. I am looking forward to discovering more hidden gems in this beautiful region. I might even stop by L'Avet de Sant Maurici for a drink.
