Today was a beautiful blend of historical exploration and modern indulgence here on Hvar Island. From tracing the paths of Vrboska's past to embracing the vibrant nightlife, it was a day filled with captivating experiences. I found myself lost in the stories of this enchanting island, and I can't wait to share my adventures with you.

My day began with a hearty breakfast at Jerolim. The fresh air and the gentle sounds of the sea made for a perfect start. I savored a traditional Croatian breakfast, fueling up for a day of exploration. It’s amazing how a simple meal can set the tone for an entire day, and today, it promised adventure.

With a sense of excitement, I set out to explore the Hvar - Vrboska theme trails. The paths wound through lush landscapes, offering glimpses of the island's natural beauty. Vrboska, often called Little Venice due to its charming bridges and picturesque canals, was a delight to wander through. The air was crisp, and the scenery was simply breathtaking. I imagined the lives of those who walked these paths before me, their stories woven into the very fabric of the land.

As I continued my journey, I stumbled upon the Dominican Monastery. This serene sanctuary offered a moment of reflection amidst the bustling island life. Although the Dominican Monastery and Church of Saint Mark is not open to the public due to needed repairs, a plaque outside states that the Dominican monk Vinko Pribojević gave his speech in Saint Mark's in 1525. The architecture was stunning, and the history held within its walls was palpable. I took a moment to appreciate the peace and tranquility, a stark contrast to the vibrant energy of Hvar town. It was a reminder of the island's rich cultural heritage and the importance of preserving these historical treasures.

For lunch, I ventured to Konoba Maestro. This cozy restaurant, run by three brothers who free dive to catch their own seafood, offered a truly unique dining experience. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I savored every bite, appreciating the passion and dedication that went into each dish. It was a culinary experience that I won't soon forget.

After lunch, I decided to do some shopping at Hommoca woman. This charming boutique offered a delightful collection of handcrafted women's jewelry and Mediterranean-inspired clothing. I found a beautiful silver pendant with a piece of lava stone, a perfect reminder of my time in Croatia, and a gift for Astrid. The shop was located on the main street to the ancient fortress Fortica.

As the sun began to set, I made my way to Hanibal for dinner. Located on St. Stephen's Square, this restaurant offered a delightful menu of local and fresh ingredients. I enjoyed a delicious meal, savoring the flavors of Hvar as I watched the world go by. The atmosphere was lively, and the service was exceptional. It was the perfect way to end a day of exploration and discovery.

I danced the night away, surrounded by fellow travelers and locals alike. It was a night of pure fun and indulgence, a celebration of life and the joy of travel.

Tomorrow, I plan to explore the lavender fields and the Jelsa Trail. I’m excited to see more of Hvar’s natural beauty and immerse myself further in its culture. I'm considering picking up some lavender products as souvenirs for Maximilian and Astrid. I've heard they're quite fragrant and a lovely reminder of the island. Maybe I'll even try my hand at knitting a small lavender sachet, a little piece of Hvar to bring back to Hannover.
