Today was a day of immersing ourselves in the heart of Volos, a blend of serene landscapes and the vibrant pulse of local life. From the park, we made our way towards the Clock Tower. The Clock Tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral stands tall and proud. The clock tower is a landmark of the city of Volos, Thessaly. Soon, it was time for breakfast, and we headed to Armonia Restaurant. The Armonia Restaurant has a wide selection of Mediterranean and international foods. I decided to have the breakfast buffet. Lena decided to have the Mediterranean flavored breakfast. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home.

Later, for lunch, we chose Agora 1955, a restaurant that combines traditional dishes with a gourmet twist.

The atmosphere was cozy, with a blend of modern and traditional design elements. We shared a selection of local treats and authentic Greek ingredients, savoring the unique flavors of the region. They really have a very unique concept. Agora 1955 is not just a cafe, a bar, a place to buy local products, or a restaurant. It is all of these things combined into one.

As evening approached, we decided to dine at the Salkimi. The Salkimi tavern stands out with its wooden dress and fragrances. The tavern is named after the Glyssina plant, which means bunch of grapes. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with hand paintings by Zoe K. Dinou adding to the charm. We enjoyed traditional dishes with the aroma of Asia Minor cuisine, each bite a testament to the local ingredients and the passion of the cooks. Antonis, who runs the tavern with his mother, welcomed us with a warm smile, sharing stories and making us feel like part of the family. It was a perfect end to a day of exploration, a reminder of the simple joys of life – good food, good company, and a welcoming atmosphere.

As we head to Skiathos tomorrow, to visit the Sycamore of peace square and the Home of Alexandros Papadiamantis. I'm looking forward to what tomorrow will bring. But for now, I'm content with the memories we've made today, a testament to the charm and allure of Pelion.
Back at our guesthouse, Lena and I sat on the balcony, sipping mountain tea and watching the stars appear in the night sky.
