As my solo journey through the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the profound connection I’ve forged with this serene landscape. Today, my final day, was a blend of cherished moments and thoughtful goodbyes, solidifying the park's place in my heart.

My first stop was the Passadiços do Gameiro. The early morning air was crisp and invigorating as I embarked on the trail. The restaurant came highly recommended for its traditional Alentejo cuisine, and I was eager to experience it firsthand. The restaurant was charming, with a cozy interior and a welcoming atmosphere. I decided to try the porco preto (black pork), a regional specialty known for its rich flavor and tender texture.
