Today was a symphony of sights, tastes, and tranquil moments that reaffirmed why I embarked on this solo journey to the Douro Valley. From panoramic viewpoints to immersive wine experiences, the day unfolded with a gentle rhythm that allowed me to fully appreciate the region's beauty and charm. My day began with a hearty breakfast at Douro à Mesa. The aroma of freshly baked bread and strong Portuguese coffee filled the air, setting the perfect tone for the adventures ahead. It’s funny, but I’ve come to really cherish these quiet breakfasts alone. Back in Berlin, Hans and I are always rushing around in the mornings, but here, I can just savor the moment.

Fueled and ready, I set off to Miradouro da Foz do Tedo. The drive itself was a treat, with winding roads offering glimpses of the terraced vineyards that define the Douro landscape. I might also stop by Douro Cycles; I've been thinking about renting a bike to explore the countryside a bit more actively. But for now, I'll drift off to sleep, dreaming of vineyards and vintage finds.

The thought of returning to Berlin and Hans is never far from my mind, but these days of solo exploration are so important for me. They allow me to reconnect with myself, to reflect on my life, and to appreciate the simple joys of travel. I know that when I return, I'll be a better version of myself, ready to embrace whatever challenges and adventures lie ahead.
