Today was a day of exploration and indulgence here in Pelion, a region that continues to surprise and delight me at every turn. From panoramic views that stretched as far as the eye could see, to savory meals that tantalized my taste buds, Pelion has truly captured my heart. It’s amazing how much you can pack into a single day when you're surrounded by such beauty and good company.

Our morning started with a hearty breakfast at Υληεν - Ylien Cafe in Zagora. The cafe was bustling with locals and tourists alike, all eager to start their day with a good meal and a strong cup of coffee. I opted for a traditional Greek coffee, while some of my friends chose the pizza and pies. The cafe had a lovely view, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. It was the perfect way to fuel up for the day’s adventures. As someone who usually starts his day in a hurry in Berlin, it was nice to slow down and savor the moment.

With our stomachs full and spirits high, we set off to visit the Pelion Cross of Jesus Observation Point. The drive itself was an experience, with winding roads that offered glimpses of the stunning landscape. The anticipation grew with every turn, and when we finally arrived, we were not disappointed. The view from the observation point was simply breathtaking. The verdant hills stretched out before us, meeting the shimmering waters of the Aegean Sea. The iconic cross stood tall, a symbol of faith and hope, and provided a perfect photo opportunity. I took a moment to soak it all in, feeling a sense of peace and tranquility wash over me. It reminded me of hiking in the Brandenburg countryside, but with a stunning sea view.

After spending some time at the observation point, we decided to explore the local shops. We stumbled upon Black Tailor's, a charming store in Agios Ioannis. It was filled with unique clothing and accessories, and I couldn't resist buying a stylish jacket as a souvenir. It's not every day you find a tailor with such a unique selection. The shop had a great vibe, and I enjoyed chatting with the owner about his craft. It's these kinds of encounters that make traveling so rewarding.

By lunchtime, we were ready for another culinary adventure. We headed to Polydroso restaurant, nestled in the picturesque village of Pouri. This restaurant is run by a talented couple who cultivate and prepare most of their ingredients themselves. The menu featured local delicacies, and we indulged in dishes like spetzofai and lamb souvlaki. The flavors were authentic and delicious, and the service was exceptional. What made the experience even more special was the stunning view overlooking Skiathos and Skopelos. It was a truly unforgettable dining experience. Lena would have loved this place; she always appreciates authentic cuisine and beautiful views.

As the day drew to a close, we made our way to ΤΑΒΕΡΝΑ ΠΛΥΜΑΡΙ for dinner. This taverna had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, and the aroma of traditional Greek dishes filled the air. We ordered a variety of mezes to share, and each dish was bursting with flavor. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the local wine was the perfect complement to our meal. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day. The conversation flowed easily, and we laughed and shared stories late into the evening. Traveling with friends makes these moments even more special. It reminded me of the lively dinners we have back in Berlin with our friends, filled with laughter and good food.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, our final day in Pelion, we plan to visit Manolas [Manolas] and explore more of the local culture. We'll start with breakfast at To Katofli tis Ketis [To Katofli tis Ketis], followed by lunch at Armonia Restaurant [Armonia Restaurant]. In the evening, we'll enjoy a farewell dinner at Akti [Akti] and perhaps a nightcap at Grappa Vino & Aperitivo [Grappa Vino & Aperitivo] before heading back to Berlin. It’s hard to believe our trip is coming to an end. Pelion has exceeded all of my expectations, and I’m already looking forward to returning someday. This trip has been a reminder of the importance of taking time to explore new places and create lasting memories with friends. As I reflect on the day, I'm filled with gratitude for the experiences and the people I've shared them with. Pelion, you've been a dream!
