It's a journey that reminds me why I traded the predictable comforts of Berlin for the raw, untamed beauty of Brazil.

My day began, as it often does here, with a hearty breakfast at Restaurante Sabor da Serra. Katiana Alves, the chef, always seems to know exactly what I need to fuel my adventures. Today, it was a plate of *cuscuz* with eggs and a strong *cafézinho*. I swear, that woman has a sixth sense for culinary magic.
