A Day of Island Discovery

As my Con Dao adventure nears its end, I wanted to soak up every last bit of this island paradise. Today was all about exploring the main island, Con Son, and finding some hidden gems. I started my day with a delicious breakfast and ended it with a tasty dinner. It was a day of simple pleasures and beautiful discoveries.

My morning began at Infinity Cafe & Restaurant, a popular spot in Con Son town. The cafe had a cool, sanctuary vibe, which was perfect for starting the day. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and a pastry, enjoying the chill atmosphere before heading out for the day's adventures. The staff were friendly, and the playlist was on point, making it a great way to kick off my explorations.

With a full stomach and a sense of adventure, I set off to explore Con Son Island. The island itself is a treasure trove of experiences, from its pristine beaches to its historical sites. The weather in Con Dao in October is generally pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 30°C (75°F to 86°F), making it ideal for outdoor activities.

My first stop was Bãi Suối Nóng, also known as Suoi Nong Beach. This beach is known for its untouched beauty and serene atmosphere. To get there from Con Son town, I followed Co Ong Road, then turned left near Mieu Ba, and walked about 150 meters through the forest. The beach was stunning, with soft, white sand and clear turquoise waters. I spent some time swimming and sunbathing, enjoying the peacefulness of this hidden gem.

Sometimes, the most beautiful discoveries are the ones you stumble upon unexpectedly.

After a relaxing morning at the beach, it was time for lunch. I headed to Nhà hàng Phố Biển, a restaurant known for its fresh seafood and traditional Vietnamese dishes. The restaurant had a lovely outdoor setting with a view of the sea, which added to the dining experience. I ordered a seafood noodle soup and some fresh spring rolls, savoring the flavors of the local cuisine.

In the afternoon, I decided to explore more of Con Son Island. I rented a motorbike and drove along the coastal roads, taking in the stunning scenery. The island is a mix of rugged mountains, lush forests, and pristine beaches, making it a paradise for nature lovers. I stopped at a few viewpoints along the way, snapping photos of the breathtaking landscapes.

As the day wound down, I made my way back to Con Son town. Before dinner, I decided to check out Phiên Khúc coffee and food, a charming spot known for its nostalgic decor and cozy atmosphere. It’s decorated with vintage wooden shutters, old motorbikes, and rustic furniture, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing break. I enjoyed a refreshing iced coffee and soaked in the ambiance, feeling grateful for the day's adventures.

For dinner, I chose Kwai's Bistro Con Dao, enticed by its cozy ambiance and the promise of delicious drinks. Although some reviews mentioned inconsistent food service, I was in the mood for a relaxing evening with a drink. The bistro had a comfortable atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. I ordered a cocktail and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, reflecting on the incredible experiences I've had on Con Dao Island.

As I sit here, writing this blog post, I can't help but feel a sense of contentment. Con Dao has exceeded all my expectations, offering a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural immersion. I am already looking forward to my last day here, where I plan to visit the historical Trai Phú Tường (Chuồng Cọp Pháp) and learn more about the island's past at the Con Dao Experience. I'll be having breakfast at The Secret Restaurant, lunch at Nhà hàng Thu Ba, and a farewell dinner at Beach House Restaurant & Cocktails Côn Đảo. I might even squeeze in some last-minute souvenir shopping at Siêu thị đặc sản, quà lưu niệm côn đảo Hương Biển. It's hard to believe my solo escape is almost over, but I'm determined to make the most of every remaining moment. Bielefeld feels so far away right now!
