Enchanting Trails and Thundering Waterfalls

Today marked another incredible chapter in our Ordesa adventure. After a hearty breakfast at La Lola de Ordesa, we set out to explore some of the park's most enchanting trails. The crisp November air and the promise of stunning landscapes fueled our excitement. With my friends in tow, I knew this day would be filled with unforgettable moments.

Our first stop was the Bosque de la Pardina del Señor, a place that felt like stepping into a fairytale. The drive there was scenic, passing through charming villages and offering glimpses of the towering Pyrenees. As we approached the forest, the colors of autumn were in full display. The forest is considered one of the most beautiful Spanish forests to visit in the fall.

The Bosque de la Pardina del Señor, or the Forest of the Ballarín Estate, is considered one of the twelve most beautiful Spanish forests to visit in autumn. It's part of the forests that extend into the Chate valley. Once inside, the sunlight filtered through the canopy, creating a magical atmosphere. The mix of beech, birch, and oak trees displayed a vibrant palette of yellows, reds, and oranges. The trail was easy to navigate, making it perfect for a leisurely morning hike with my friends. We spent hours wandering among the ancient trees, taking photos and simply soaking in the tranquility. It felt like a world away from the bustling streets of Montreal, a peaceful sanctuary where nature reigned supreme. The walk is about 4 and half hours to cover the 5km to the end of the trail.

“Sometimes, the most profound experiences come from simply being present in nature, letting its beauty wash over you.”

After our enchanting forest walk, we were ready for lunch. We headed to Asador Pizzeria Portal de Ordesa, enticed by the promise of wood-fired pizzas and grilled meats. The restaurant was cozy and inviting, with a rustic décor that perfectly complemented the surrounding landscape. I decided on a grilled lamb dish, while my friends opted for various pizzas. The food was hearty and delicious, exactly what we needed after a morning of hiking. The service was friendly, and we felt right at home. It was the perfect spot to refuel and share stories from our morning adventure.

With our bellies full and our spirits high, we set our sights on the Cascada de La Larri. The drive to the Pineta Valley, where the waterfall is located, was breathtaking. The valley is surrounded by towering peaks, and the views were simply stunning. The weather in November can be unpredictable, but we were fortunate to have a clear, sunny day. The hike to the waterfall was relatively easy, and the trail wound through lush meadows and along the Larri River. As we got closer, we could hear the thundering roar of the water, building our anticipation.

Finally, we reached the Cascada de La Larri, and it was even more spectacular than we had imagined. The water cascaded down several tiers, creating a mesmerizing display of power and beauty. We spent a long time simply watching the waterfall, mesmerized by its raw energy. I took out my camera and snapped dozens of photos, trying to capture the essence of this natural wonder. The Cascada de la Larri is one of the biggest waterfalls in Spain with a total height of approximately 180 meters. There are different options for the hike, from a short walk to see the lower part of the falls, to a 6.5km walk.

As the day drew to a close, we made our way to Bar-ChillOut Los Caballos for a well-deserved drink. The bar had a relaxed atmosphere, and we enjoyed reminiscing about our adventures over a few beers. It was the perfect way to end a day filled with exploration and natural beauty. The bar is a great place to relax and unwind after a day of hiking.

For dinner, we decided to treat ourselves to a meal at Restaurante Parador de Bielsa. The restaurant is known for its traditional Spanish cuisine and elegant ambiance. We started with some local appetizers, followed by hearty main courses. I savored every bite, appreciating the flavors of the region. The service was impeccable, and the staff made us feel like royalty. It was a fitting end to a day of unforgettable experiences. The Parador is located in a spectacular location, surrounded by mountains and nature. Reviews of the restaurant are generally positive, with many people praising the food and service.

Tomorrow, we plan to hike to Tozal del Mallo, explore the Cueva de Coro Trasito, and maybe even check out Nieve&Sport for some winter gear. I'm already excited for what tomorrow will bring. I'm also looking forward to trying out El Nido del Búho bar.
