Car
To reach Kuhistan by car from Baghlan, start by heading southeast on the main road (Highway 1). Follow the signs towards Pul-e-Khumri, approximately 40 km from Baghlan. Once in Pul-e-Khumri, continue on the same road for about 30 km until you reach the town of Baghlan. From there, take the road leading towards the northeast, staying on the main route until you reach the turnoff for Kuhistan. The total travel time should be around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions [4]. Note that road conditions may be challenging.
Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, start at the main bus station in Baghlan. Look for a bus or shared taxi heading toward Pul-e-Khumri. The fare is usually around 50 AFN. The ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Pul-e-Khumri, you will need to find another shared taxi or bus that goes northeast toward Kuhistan. This leg of the journey may cost an additional 100 AFN and could take another hour. Confirm with the driver that they are headed towards Kuhistan before boarding [4].
